Clay is Gay

People Magazine reports that singer Clay Aiken has come out and publicly acknowledged that he is gay.

Rumors have swirled around the 29 year old and his sexual orientation for some time. Now, due to the birth of his son Parker, Aiken captured headlines once again when he decided to follow through on a promise he made to himself as a new dad and publicly acknowledge that he is gay. “It was the first decision I made as a father,” Aiken tells PEOPLE. “I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things. I wasn’t raised that way, and I’m not going to raise a child to do that.”
