"Can I call you, 'Joe?'"
"Of course."
"OK, 'cause I practiced a couple of zingers where I call you Joe."
I think the only downside of John McCain losing this election will be that Tina Fey will not be able to skewer Sarah Palin anymore. Tina Fey has her down so well. Fey is more Sarah Palin then Sarah Palin is and I never tire of watching these skits.
Tina Fey either states exactly the way Sarah Palin reacts in unfiltered situations or does a great translation of her behavior in the same setting. Fey's portrayal is so dead on in comparison it's obvious that the only thing more scarier than Sarah Palin becoming VP is John McCain becoming president. And yet, one has to laugh to keep from crying at the mere thought of this happening.
On last nights SNL, Feys Maverick, flute playing, Wink Winking Palin took on Joe Biden in another hilarious skit that is sure to become a Saturday Night Live Classic. And to make this skit even better, the SNL crew was joined by guest host Queen Latifah, who did a great job lampooning debate moderator, Gwen Ifill.
But the most amusing moment of this skit for me was Feys response to the question about same sex benefits presented during the real debate Thursday Night. Fey had a zinger that nearly had Mountain Dew shooting out of my nose.
Playing off Palin's unwed pregnant teen daughter, whose marriage to the father of her baby was announced when Palin was tapped by McCain to be his running mate,Fey said,"You know I would be afraid of where that would lead. I believe marriage is meant to be a sacred institution between two unwilling teenagers."
Friday, Lets Get Real contacted Ms. Feys Publicist and we were told…Tina really does not have to write very much for any of these pieces… all Tina is doing is watching Sarah on television, and Sarah is doing the rest, Palin was a gift from heaven.”
But Ms. Feys publicist also told us that Tina is hoping to be able to stop playing Palin sometime in November.
