The Game of Life Let’s You Be Gay

lifeThe online version of the Hasbro board game The Game of Life let’s you have a same-sex partner and choose homosexual marriage and child-rearing as a way of life.

In an unprecedented move, the game is drawing attention and opening up the conversation between children and their parents, although not always welcome. The game allows you to choose a male or female identity, and then invites you to choose a spouse, regardless of the spouse’s gender.

The response has been neutral so far with a few comments made on the website where the game can be downloaded such as these:

With a thumbs up leaf013 Mar 14, 2009 – “I love that its all inclusive of all people. Same-sex marriage being included just gives another opportunity to teach kids and adults alike the value of people, their freedoms, pursuit of happiness and at the very least – tolerance.”

With a thumbs down newsblogger Mar 13, 2009 – “This game potentially contains adult issues dealing with same-gender marriage. Be prepared for comments and questions dealing with that if you have kids playing this game.”

If you are interested in downloading the game for your family, you can find it here.

Are you KIDDING ME? I fail to understand how same sex marriage is “an adult issue” and yet straight marriage somehow isn’t. When you explain straight marriage to a young child you don’t describe the couple naked and having sex. The same goes for gay marriage…unless of course you don’t WANT to omit the nasty raging sex part for fear of making gay marriage appear harmeless…oh wait it is.

Besides that, in the board game you can just as easily stick two blue or two pink pegs in the front seat of the car. I did it all the time. :P

this is a good idea im glad that we will have games out there but im sure theirs going to be a huge fight over even letting this game onto market. I bet they will have an age restriction to must be 14 years or older in order to know what gay means

Thank goodness. If parents are so ignorant and dumb that they aren’t educating their children about the diversity of relationships that exists on this fine planet, then I’m happy there is a board game that will do it for them. It doesn’t matter who you love. Love is always love – no matter what it looks like. The world is so short on love – why deny it to those who find it!
