Good As You Parodies the National Organization for Marriage Commercial

1489894824_l

GoodAsYou.org has been covering the recent anti-gay commercial by the National Organization for Marriage.

There are some insightful posts on the issue there, deserving enough of a blog post here! First of all, if you haven’t seen the commercial yet, here is a copy below, although I can’t guarantee how long it will be working. (The National Organization for Marriage has systematically contacted each organization who has been hosting this video claiming copyright infringement to have it removed.)

So here is the NOM’s commercial, maybe…

Now here is the GoodAsYou.org video response parody to the commercial:

And here is another parody posted to the blog:

The GoodAsYou.org website is also featuring screen shots of the pro-gay comments left on the National Organization for Marriage’s website that have been deleted here. You can also find a blog post here that had the actors audition tapes for that commercial. Those videos have too since been contested by the organization and removed from YouTube.

Another great post they have is called “The National Org. For Marriage is now a self-parody”:

You just can’t make it up:

APRIL 8, 2009 — In just a few minutes, NOM President Maggie Gallagher and I will hold a press conference in Trenton, NJ, announcing an ambitious new nationwide “2 Million for Marriage” (2M4M) initiative.

Yes, that’s right: Their new campaign to stop two men from marrying is working under the chat room-sounding acronym, 2M4M! 2M4M! 2M4M!!!!!!

What next, NOM: Gonna ask folks if they like their gay rights cut or uncut?

Oh yeah that is classic stuff people!!

Be sure to subscribe to GoodAsYou.org to get the latest on the NOM commercial and more!

But first, tell me, what did you think of the original commercial and let us know if you’ve found some other good parodies. ;o)

How dare they sell this Bull***t as the truth!!! Why is my right to marry the man I love an issue for them? Why must they care what happens in my home and in my bedroom the love I feel for my Husband, and yes although I’m not allowed to marry in Kansas I still feel that we are married and I will call him that, any different than the love they feel for there Significant Others? I was born this way I did not chose this why would anyone, when all we get is discrimination, I don’t know of anyone that would ‘chose’ to be gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, or transgendered and be scorned by a society that is obviously ignorant of the fact that we don’t chose this role. I will not be told that my love is wrong or that I am a biological anomoly, I will however live my life the best I can and love my Husband with all that I have in me. And NO ONE will tell me otherwise.

why jarabad?? so they can treat us like you do and call us losers?? there are many men that will have us, want us, need us… not all are bad. we just want women instead. its very simple. i can only hope that you will find a woman as strong hearted as we are, someone who will go through thick and thin because they love you. that is if you like women, if you like men then i hope you find a man who will love you the same. good luck!!
