Sustainable sex toys have become a new trend with many sex toy companies offering eco-friendly options to their customers.
Online retailers of adult toys and accessories, such as Earth Erotics, are using environmentally friendly materials and ingredients to manufacture products like organic lube and soy body candles. Some retailers, like lesbian-friendly Babeland, have gone so far as to maintain relationships with green friendly vendors such as those who won’t test ingredients on animals and non-profit operations.
More recently, however I have found out from Bilerico that you can take things a step further by recycling your sex toys and adult accessories when you’re ready for something new.
Instead of hiding those old vibrators, dildos, plugs, or other toy you may have at the bottom of the trash can, you can drop your clean used toy(s) in the mail to places like the Dreamscapes Adult Toy Recycling Program, which sends you a $10 credit for new sex toys in return! They have it cleaned and disassembled and then the rubber, silicone, hard plastics, metal, e-waste and motors are sent to recycling facilities that process the materials for reuse.
Lesbian must-see In Her Tube is another adult retailer going green who offers harnesses created from recycled innertubes.
The harnesses are made of truck, car, and heavy equipment innertube. The innertubes are cleaned, cut, glued, punched and riveted together. They are flexible and the fasteners are velcro for easy on and off. The harnesses can be cleaned in soap and water and are custom made for any body type, big or small and claim to be “dyke-tested” and “girlfriend approved”. They recommend silicone dildos for use with these harnesses which can be found at Vixen Creations.
Some other romantic ideas for green sexy fun from the Dreamscapes Adult Toy Recycling Program:
-Showering together can save water.
-In the colder months, lower the thermostat and make some nice warm loving before bed to get the bedroom toasty.
-In the warmer months, a nice bike ride for two is a fossil-fuel-free way to get the blood flowing.
-Last, but not least the classic romantic candle light dinner. A delicious way to set the mood and save energy.

Boy, I would love to see the recycling bin for sex toys. Some old dildos, a used blowup doll…hilarious.

I never thought I’d buy a sex toy in a million years. But a few months ago, my girlfriend sent me a link to http://www.orgasminsurance.om and I bought a few great sex toys. I believe they are recyclable, but if not, I must say they are worth every penny. I am one of those women who was never able to have an orgasm. Now, http://www.orgasminsurance.com has provided me with the best insurance indeed!

We also already do this.
In all fairness I think the majority of the decent sex toy companies in the UK do it to some extent.

Recycling sex toys is very real – and not too hard! LoveHoney has been doing it with our Rabbit Amnesty program in the UK for a couple of years now: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/rabbit-amnesty/
We’ve recycled tons of vibrators – you can see them being recycled here:

BTW, “recycled” doesn’t mean “refurbished and resold” – it means smashed into bits and used for other products!
