Miss California’s Gathering Storm

I just read on the Box Turtle Bulletin that Miss California Carrie Prejean has agreed to appear in an ad against gay marriage produced by the same people behind the “Gathering Storm” commercial.

I am not sure if Carrie Prejean has ever seen this particular commercial, and is aware of the ‘gathering storm’ of ridicule awaiting this project. I was willing to wait things out to see if she would change her stance on “opposite marriage” and gain a bit more tact at expressing her beliefs in a crowded planet room. This recent choice of hers to join forces with the NOM however has brought to the surface how birds of a feather flock together. Her answer was tactless, their commercial was tactless – it’s a no brainer – they belong together.

We’ll see what kind of backdrop they use for this one… and I wonder if she’ll be wearing a sash and tiara? Do we get to see some struggling actors or is this one going to be star-studded? With a $1.5 million budget, the NOM was smart to put this pretty girl on the payroll, but did they save enough for scenery? I guess only time will tell.

The National Organziation for Marriage has scheduled a press conference with Prejean in Washington on Thursday to unveil the new ad, called “No Offense.”
