One Million Moms Against Miley Cyrus

omm_banner_468x60OneMillionMoms.com, an anti-gay website brought to us by the American Family Association, has issued an action alert against tween sensation Miley Cyrus because she sent out a Twitter message in support of marriage equality.

For those who don’t know, the OneMillionMoms.com project is essentially a newsletter which asks those who sign up to take action against those person’s or establishments who show support for pro-gay initiatives. The website sends out messages to their subscribers, and offer a tell-a-friend feature for those messages as well.

The latest message sent out by the site is an action alert against the daughter of country music icon Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Cyrus, who is popular for her role as Hannah Montana on the hit Disney show of the same name. The younger Cyrus has had her fair share of media attention lately, but most recently grabbed headlines by showing support for marriage equality via Twitter to infamous blogger Perez Hilton. The tweet was prompted by a controversial answer to a question about gay marriage by Miss California Carrie Prejean at the 2009 Miss USA Pageant.

Perez Hilton asked celebrities for their thoughts on the topic via the popular micro-blogging website, Twitter, to which Miley Cyrus replied.

Here is the action alert which resulted, issued by OneMillionMoms.com:

Miley Cyrus said what?

“Hannah Montana” star Miley Cyrus recently made statements supporting gay marriage.

Her comments were in response to a question posed to Miss California Carrie Prejean in the April 19 Miss USA Pageant. Homosexual celeblogger Perez Hilton was the pageant judge who asked Prejean her opinion of same-sex marriage, to which she responded that marriage should be between a man and a woman. Outraged by her response, Hilton began blasting the beauty queen and asked for celebrities to share their thoughts on gay marriage.

Miley Cyrus responded to Hilton through her Twitter.com account with the following comments:

  • “Everyone deserves to love and be loved and most importantly smile.”
  • “Jesus loves you and your partner and wants you to know how much he cares! That’s like a daddy not loving his lil boy cuz he’s gay and that is wrong and very sad!
  • “Like I said everyone deserves to be happy.”
  • “God’s greatest commandment is to love. And judging is not loving.”
  • “I am a Christian and I love you – gay or not – because you are no different than anyone else! We are all God’s children.”

Such statements will send the wrong message to our children who are influenced by this teenage megastar. Parents need to realize that Cyrus is not the positive role model she was once thought to be.

Take Action

Send Miley Cyrus a letter stating that you do not approve of her comments.

Clearly she is confused and does not understand the Bible. Please pray for the Lord to open her eyes to the truth.

Check out the articles below for a better understanding of this controversial issue.

Their sister site OneMillionDads.com, seems to mirror the action alerts on OneMillionMoms.com, yet have not posted an action alert against Miss Cyrus as of yet.

    Poll of The Week
Why do you think people are anti-gay?

Good question! But this is why many people from the right complain about bias form the left. Look at the wording of the poll again. Who said, or assumed, that pro prop. 8 peeps were “anti-gay”? Why not word it “pro traditional marriage”, or “pro heterosexual marriage”? Think about it…without us straight breeders, there would be no LGBT community. Ironic, isn’t it? Yet the choices for the poll answers were not much better, more or less painting conservatives in an overall negative light. How about this option for an answer to the question: “Why do you think folks are against gay marriage?” Because they fear God!

It’s ironic isn’t Sei… what is spewing from him is landing him in the spam bucket with the perverts and other unmentionables that try to spam this site. What kind of Christian example is that??? I for one wish all his comments would show here because I think that when others see the arguments he is making and can come to their own conclusions using common sense, they will see the truth which is that Jon Ford is a preacher of hate.

This website is disingenuous when it states “by showing support for marriage equality”. Don’t they mean GAY marriage? Why don’t they just “come out” and say it rather than use a PC euphemism?
Obviously, Miley is a PC (politically correct) Christian, which means that she bought into the moral relativism Hollywood loves to preach via the popular media. ““Jesus loves you and your partner and wants you to know how much he cares! That’s like a daddy not loving his lil boy cuz he’s gay and that is wrong and very sad!” Yes, Jesus does love that abomination otherwise known as Perez Hilton and his gay lover. However, God nor Jesus approves of their gay lifestyle. The Bilble is crystal clear about this, and God is more than just “love”. One million moms was right on when it said “Clearly she is confused and does not understand the Bible.” But I’ll go a step further and theorize that Cyrus doesn’t bother reading the Bible, or listens to some PC pastor somewhere who condones homosexuality and twists Scripture to support a flawed doctrine. “God’s greatest commandment is to love. And judging is not loving.” Yes, JESUS greatest command, or beatitude, was to love your neighbor as you love yourself. Yet God is a God of BOUNDARIES as well, not just love. if you doubt that, then how do you explain John the Apostle’s vision of the White Throne Judgment in Heaven? If God or Jesus was merely nothing more than love, why would people be judged and damned to eternal torment? Unfortunately, Cyrus is a product of Disney, which offers “family entertainment” with a PC twist! “I am a Christian and I love you – gay or not – because you are no different than anyone else! We are all God’s children.” Too bad Miley is a compromised Christian too. Although Jesus (God) loves ALL sinners, condoning homosexual behavior on the basis of “love” is not Biblical. Rather, it is a byproduct of the ’60′s counterculture from the Hippies. “Love, not war”! Sound familiar? What do you think happened to Hippies when they “grew up”? Many ended up working for mass media conglomerates like Disney. To the pro gay people who say “how do you know what God thinks”?, I say READ THE BIBLE. The bottom line is that Cyrus does NOT represent Christians with her anti prop. 8 diatribe. Maybe this sums it all up: “Billy Ray is Angry That Jamie Foxx Joked About Miley Being a Lesbian” and “Celebrity Gossip: Is Miley Cyrus A Lesbian?” If Smiley is gay, that explains it!

Due to the fact that Mr. Jon Ford tried to flood this article with far too many comments in a short period of time, he unfortunately tripped the spam filter. It may have been unintentional because the site experienced a bit too much traffic this morning because of my post on Sotomayor, and his comments may have been delayed due to that and it ended up tripping the filter when the comments went through too closely together.

Yes, I suppose you are right, Jules, But I am still upset that you cut out my reply to “fucking bible” with my sly “are you referring to the Joy of Sex” response! That was simply classic.
With that in mind, I will retire and start anew by attacking the libs who go off on conservatives within the Fox blog pages. I happened to find myself here by accident after Googling “Miley against prop. 8″. But maybe this was no accident. Maybe it was divine intervention to open your eyes. If the Bible endorsed homosexual relations, I would be right there with y’all. But sweet niblets, it doesn’t! Maybe that is why I have an issue with Ms. Hope Destiny Achy Breaky Heart. I don’t belong here, just like your peeps do not belong on Fox harrassing the “right-wingers”. But God does love each and every one of you. Yet his plan did NOT include homosexual relationships. Repent and sin no more seyz the Bible…

Oddly enough, the “anti-H8″ crowd is more vicious and hateful than the pro 8 peeps! When they lost the ballot measure, their true (non rainbow) colors started showing. Unfortunately, all I saw from that crowd concerning “tolerance” were shades of black and grey, with hate mixed in. Somehow, the “rainbow of love” disappeared when the gay lobby got ahold of the pro 8 donor list and started harassing anyone who gave more than a C note to the prop 8 cause. In effect, the pro gay bigots came out of the woodwork to attack anyone supporting traditional marriage! I could just as easily say that “LezGetReal” is an anti Christian site. Ironically, many of the anti 8 supporters also made the crude “tea bagging” jokes as well…

um I know Paula, and for a woman she has some metaphorically large balls.
and here it is brother, she does have the right to marry.
unfortunately she has to travel to another state to enjoy that right.
just another example of keeping us down as a people.
marriage is a sacrament of the church? all I can say is separation of church and state.
civil rights are not special rights.
yes we are a minority and we would like to be protected.
cowards and devils and lesbians, oh my!
marriage equality is absolutely correct. polygamy defies your definition of marriage as well and quite frankly has nothing to do with our fight.
we pay equal taxes we should have equal rights, not separate but equal institutions – EQUAL means equal.

“Your born gay!!!!! get over it and get a life.” Really? Ironically enough, no scientist has yet found or proven a “gay gene”. Maybe ’cause it doesn’t exist? Most gay people were molested as kids, and environment / nurturing play a significant role in sexual orientation. Domineering parents and the new “unisex” attitude also play a part in sexual orientation. Add in the “Hollywood hip factor” and bisexual celebs come out of the closet like it’s the best thing since sliced bread. But you appear to be conflicted, and for good reason. Maybe it is because you know, deep down, that the gay lifestyle is a perversion. “i dont think your kids just because of her status is going to wake up one morning and say today im going to be gay!” Yet peer pressure and pop media DO play a role in how teenagers act and feel. Gay behavior is akin to sexual addiction, especially with gay guys. All they want is to get off!

If you would like to get science involved Mr Ford then look to the Scientific American magazine which gives proof to the fact that our whole existence is a hologram, and on the most fundamental level we are all ONE. This is what your Bible meant when it said that we are made in God’s image. Jesus knew this and our human understanding is so limited that he had to try to explain things in metaphors. Unfortunately, there are many like yourself who take his words very literal in many cases or in other cases shape His words to fit your agenda. Other parts of your Bible are man’s interpretation or ego driven perspective. God is truly beyond all that, and anyone to put human attributes to Him is barking up the wrong tree. In the grand scheme of things gender, race, age, class have nothing to do with what is really important which is our heart and mind. In the “real world” if your mind is leading you towards separation ideas rather than unity and harmony, you are not in sync with our Creator.

Julie… I think I love you. Alas, I am a male lesbian. Is that cool with you? To speak to the idea of our ONE reality, both of the genders are incomplete expressions of ONEness. Within each of us exists an (un)balance between masculine and feminine. I don’t believe in gender. It’s part of the hologram. Just my two sense… I don’t want to be a part of all of the hate on this site. Let’s all just take a breath and be thankful for what we have.

      Dear Jon Ford.
“Really? Ironically enough, no scientist has yet found or proven a “gay gene”. Maybe ’cause it doesn’t exist?” Fun Fact: The just might be a little more complex than what you learnt at bible camp Jon.
“Most gay people were molested as kids” Just plain wrong. You have nothing to back up this outrageous claim with
“..environment / nurturing play a significant role in sexual orientation.” Now ironically, Jon cant show us any proof of this. may be ’cause it just ain’t true.
“Domineering parents and the new “unisex” attitude also play a part in sexual orientation.” Where do you get this from? wehatefags.com?
“Add in the “Hollywood hip factor” And that’s gonna make straight guys wanna suck cock. right. Go Jon.
“Maybe it is because you know, deep down, that the gay lifestyle is a perversion.” I think Jon, that it might be you that should stop “obsessing” about this “perversion”.
“Yet peer pressure and pop media DO play a role in how teenagers act and feel.” How great for gay kids then, that the good “christian” people like you are around to tell them they are perverts.
“Gay behavior is akin to sexual addiction, especially with gay guys.” Does that turn you on Jon? Does it?
“All they want is to get off!” Funny how you know this Jon? Anything you want to share with the group?

“Ok first off if you don’t believe in equality of marriage and happiness you WILL go to hell ”
Hmmm…could you be quoting the “New Hell” version of the Bible? Back up your claim with a legitimate quote from Scripture (AKA: The Bible). There is NOTHING in the BIble that talks about gay marriage. In reality, you would have a much better case if you argued for polygamy, since it was a common practice before Christ. Both David and Soloman had multiple wives and concubines. But Jesus stated that a marriage should be “between one man and one woman”, not a man and multiple women or a woman and multiple men. “OneMillionMoms.com should be permanently removed from the internet for its idiotic and pathetic coax.” Nice spelling and grammar…yes, you are 15! But what you espouse is commonly referred to as the “Fairness Doctrine”, which is a liberal attempt at censorship.

Were you there when Jesus said that? Or are you taking the word of a book written by people with their own agenda?

    • Jon Ford

      May 27, 2009 at 10:59 pm

“Jesus questions both their reading and interpreting skills. “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? Genesis 1:27 declares, “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” The uniqueness of the male and the female begins our thinking on the divine standard of marriage. Had polygamy been God’s design, He easily could have made 3 or 5 or 10 women for the man. But the single man and single woman, made for each other and joined together by God, established the pattern for every marriage. Additionally, since we face a national crisis regarding the estate of marriage, it is important to understand that God could have created another man for the first man had that been the divine design for marriage. But the emphatic statement of Genesis 1:27, followed by the reiteration of Christ as He explains the nature of marriage, demands that the only legitimate marriage in the sight of the Creator is between one man and one woman. Jesus’ own words highlight the logic of the creation order and mandate in marriage, “He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife.” We must never fall for the whiny arguments of equality, toleration, fairness, and professions of same sex love. That kind of talk never comes from God! The one issue that matters is “what says the Lord?” The very idea that Christian denominations would even consider consecrating homosexual relationships defies any sane reading of Holy Scripture! We need only look at the scattered ruins of the Greek and Roman empires that both openly practiced and sanctioned homosexual relations to see where it will take our own nation if we cave in those promoting anti-biblical values.” Do you want more Scripture, or do you want to hurl instead? Give up yet?!

    • ~Julie Phineas~

      May 27, 2009 at 11:34 pm

Once again you are quoting a book that was not only man made but also you would like us to believe that all the translations and editing over time haven’t changed the meaning one bit??? Not everyone follows your Bible Mr. Ford. There are some great insights and ideas there, but some are a bit misguided. There are plenty of other books in this world with very valuable information, and not all will find Jesus through books. Although I must admit that I am a bit curious what your thoughts are on the lost Gospel of Thomas, or the Gospel of Mary Magdalene. Books aside, one of the most valuable and trusted tools that we were all given by God’s grand design is our body. It is a classic design that has carried us for much time and if you delve a little deeper you will find that simple meditation is a great way to get in touch with God’s answers and inspirations. We don’t need your Bible or any other to know what God’s will is for us or our lives. Although I must admit they make for some entertaining reading…

“this is rediculos i’m christan but i still support gay marriage” Actually, you are no “Christian” if you support gay marriage. If you claim Christianity to the contrary, you are a “Christian” in name only. Besides, real Christians do not blog “mohter f u c k e r s”! Despite what many of you may think, this is not about hate or bigotry from my side. Rather, I am simply pointing out what the BIBLE states, pure and simple. Don’t shoot the messenger. If you don’t like it, take your argument up with the Almighty. But don’t be lame and bring up Old Testament dietary laws to point out how silly the Bible is or how “out of touch” it is with modern society. If you subtract the technology, modern people are no different than ancient people. Even the old Greek and Roman empires had PC thought. It was OK for gay guys to hook-up back then, while Christians were being fed to the lions!

Ok, I’m sorry but this is purely ridiculous. I am not Christian or anything but I do know that if God is good he would not judge somebody because they are attracted to a different gender. Nothing is bad about it, nothing jepordizes the good of our people. Gay and lesbian people tend to be quite normal, and they do not patronize anyone in any way. They didn’t do anything bad. And I hate to break it to you, Millions of Moms or whatever you cult people are, but your children won’t give a crap what Miley Cyrus does. Do you honestly think that just because your 8-year-old daughter knows that Miley Cyrus supports gays and lesbians, they’re really going to go and start flirting with her friends? I doubt they even know what gay and lesbian means. Miley isn’t even lesbian herself. And hell, if you’re kids are sensible, even if they’re Christian or Catholic, they’ll know that Jesus loves everyone, no matter who they like. So fuck off.
