Bono (U2) Not Having Sex Change Operation

Bono is not having a sex change operation. That is, U2 frontman Bono is not having a sex change. Chaz Bono still is. While Bono did make a statement about how he would be more than willing to become a woman “for the right reason”, he is not planning on having a sex change any time soon. The confusion stems from the headlines which often simply stated “Bono Having Sex Change Operation”.

Bono was confused initially since he got a rather teary call from his wife. According to Bono “She kept on repeating ‘It all makes sense’, but I thought she’d just finally understood why we made our Pop album. Turns out she thought I was a woman.” Bono even got grilled by his own U2 band mates. For some reason they thought he was a woman for the last thirty years.

“If one child in Africa was happier because I became a woman, I would go through with it. It doesn’t matter if I’m a man or a woman. The only reason I exist on this planet is to save it. And wear women’s sunglasses,” Bono said, getting back to the business of saving the world.
