Sam Nunn says it is “probably time” to review “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”
Sunday, former Georgia Democratic Senator Sam Nunn, said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that it’s “probably time” to review the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy concerning gays and lesbians serving openly in the military.
Nunn, a conservative Democrat, was one of his party’s experts in military matters when he was it the senate and was one of chief architects of DADT in 1993. However, in 2008, Nunn endorsed a new Pentagon study to re-examine the issue.
Nunn was also a key advisor to President Barack Obama during the transition and at one time was thought to be a possible candidate for Secretary of Defense in the new Obama administration.
