According to Rep. Steve King of Iowa, same sex marriage is part of a socialist agenda to undermine “the foundations of individual rights and liberties.
Appearing on World Net Daily’s Radio America King said,
“If there’s a push for a socialist society where the foundations of individual rights and liberties are undermined and everybody is thrown together living collectively off one pot of resources earned by everyone, this is one of the goals they have to go to, same sex marriage, because it has to plow through marriage in order to get to their goal. They want public affirmation, they want access to public funds and resources.”
Last week King, who is also opposed to the Mathew Shepard Hate Crimes Bill and the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, sparked controversy when he said in an interview his ‘best vote’ ever cast, as a member of Congress was his no vote to deny disaster relief to thousands of victims of Hurricane Katrina. The Hate Crimes Bill would enforce stiffer penalties on those who attack members of the LGBT community out of a sense of homophobia or transphobia. ENDA is intended to end employment discrimination.

The conservative Iowa congressman also condemned his own state’s Supreme Court for legalizing marriage equality and slammed the Iowa state legislature for not voting on an amendment to overturn the Supreme Court’s decision, saying that the Democratic legislature is backed politically by “a number of very, very rich homosexual activists.”
King moreover expressed concern that the U.S. Congress might repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which gives states the ability to refuse to recognize same sex marriages or civil unions in other states.
King added that he thought that former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) was right to say that legal same sex marriages would open the door to legal polygamy or bestiality.
“Not only is it a radical social idea, it is a purely socialist concept in the final analysis,” King said.

Homophobia is a sin like lying, stealing and murder. God hates sin. Those caught up in homophobia should be seeking deliverance from it rather than trying to recruit others into this sin. Mr. King wants to impose his religious beliefs on everyone else in Iowa. His goal is to take away the civil rights and religious liberty of pro-equality Americans and churches. Do we really want to live in a theocracy where only one religious belief is allowed? Religious tyranny is unamerican.

Another white, bigoted, self-centred, hypocritical, big-headed, non-aware asshole Republican.
So, what else is new?
