Physician testifies against equality because “an anus is for something to come out of and for nothing to go into”

us medicalBy Melanie Nathan  -   Maybe I did not get it. But watch the video of Dr. Ruth Jacobs on YouTube  to make your own assessment.  Let me know how you would title this post.  I will personally send a keepsake to the one whose title I will use on the BLOG.

I was absolutely flabbergasted when I heard this crazy woman under the guise of Physician;  a sad sorry being.  How did she get that seat to testify. Oh goodness help us. I sunk into deep despair – yes optimistic me – so depressed to see this video – it hits me like a ten ton truck – the fight – the battle.  Is this really happening?

How does one fight prejudice – hate- fear – insanity? Is there a formula?  I am not sure if there could be any worse sign of the times than a highly educated professional displaying such ignorance.

I came to the US from South Africa 25 years ago- as Reagan was about to murder the middle class.  I thought America was diverse, tolerant, progressive.  I truly believed there was no racism here. I was proud to display my banned copy of the Life of Nelson Mandela on my West Hollywood coffee table.  I could not  be arrested here for that.  I could walk in West Hollywood holding my partner’s hand and I was safe.  This is America the law would protect me.

Then came the day my dream came true – In fron of Willy Brown, Mayor San Francisco I was sworn in as a citizen. What a celebration. The greatest Country in the World and I am its citizen.  I  vowed to do my bit – non-profit boards, commissions, volunteer, oh a lot more and I did.  but now I stand hated and marginalized and worse – my children considered unfit to have the relationship of their 2 parents  equated to that of their friends. Their college money spent on immigration attorneys, excess taxes and all the extra money it costs to be gay in America.

However today I awake to the reality of this Dr. Ruth Jacobs - a metaphor for the times – Maine, California, a never to be repealed DADT and DOMA – a few miserable tokenistic crumbs  hailed as progress;  - and what do we get Ruth Jacobs equating my right to marry to an anus and what should come out and not go in.

Shame America! Shame that you allow such bigotry to taint the true value of this Country and the dream we all share.

I don’t get it. Does she or doesn’t she want anal sex taught in sex ed?
She wants people informed about the dangers of unprotected anal sex, but she doesn’t want it taught to kids in the class. When does she propose that people learn about the dangers of unprotected anal sex if not at the same time when they learn about the dangers of unprotected vaginal sex?

And the mouth is for eating food & showing the world what a narrow minded bigot you are, so no oral sex either.

The alleged doctor has her head up that orifice she claims is for exit only. She claims expertise regarding AIDS. Yet she opposes education that might prevent it spread? Her “testimony” reeks of the latest right wing tactic, which claims by allowing Gay people to get married (or ultimately have any civil rights) will mean your kids will be taught in school how to have anal sex with a same sex partner.

When are people going to start realizing that we have so many problems in America that actually matter- our economy is going to sh*, our environment needs a lot of work, our children are uneducated and overweight, the entire world hates us….I could go on and on. Why do people care if homosexuals get married? They deserve the same rights as everyone else; it’s that simple.  Legalize gay marriage and move on to improving our country.

I don’t believe that it should be put on the ballot, either. If the judicial system says gay marriage is legal- then so it should be. If people had been allowed to vote on equality for all races, we would probably still be living with separate drinking fountains. Grow up America. This is 2009.

I am just wondering what is she afraif of?
Is she projecting ? Is she in fear we will find out what she likes ?come on.
Teaching on any topic and education in general does not teach anything that those children did not see or heard before. The only it does do is to teach them tools such as when, how, why, should we do it ,etc..

The fact that I learned all about how you have sex at 13 does not mean I went out and did what they spoke about. Instead of Lez get real it should be Ruth get laid and save me the pitty speeches. Your fear is not a reason to prevent knowladge from any one .

As a straight physician myself, all I can say is shame on this doctor for using our profession as a platform and source of credibility for her own personal prejudices. How dare she use the medical profession as a means of trying to spread and institutionalize hate. For shame, for shame.

On a more personal note, one of the previous bloggers must realize that change is inevitable. The “inevitability” argument is not my goal. There are countless other reasons why homosexuals, heterosexuals, and any other person that identifies him or herself any other way should all have the same rights. It is, however, important to realize the inevitability of change. To be attached to ideas about the permenance of anything will only cause anguish.

What a ridiculous statement. In this case, lesbians shoul be ‘permitted’ sex more frequently that heterosexuals, since theyre the LEAST likely to contract AIDS, or other STIs. She also acts ignorant of the fact gay marriage would be MARRIAGE i.e. one partner for the rest of your life, therefore would be an improvement on AIDS stats, even if she does choose to blame gay men, as more would arguably become monogamous.

  8. aha! I thought of that two – melanie your blogger

  9. right we should ban those? melanie your blogger

  10. Actually by the mere fact that there are far less gay people in the world than straight- maybe we should ban marriage and sex altogether- what is she hiding this woman?

  11. Harbeas – If I was not a nice person and not the ajuthor of this BLOG this is what I would say:” How can you put food in your mouth after you have sucked a weenie? How can you put food in your mouth after such Bullshit has exited.” I mean get a grip on yourself. However more importantly is that fact that you believe that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. You go on to say that gays do not meet the criteria. I wonder what your criteria are?
I am a married lesbian to my partner of many years. We met the criteria before we were allowed to legally marry, when we legally married and now after our legal gay marriage. We are legal according to California law as are the other 17,999 gays married in a three month windown of opportunity. SO here are the criteria that qualified me for marriage: 1. I fell in love with my spouse; 2. We are ableto have a sexual relationship and it is satisfying. 3. We used donor sperm, (making sure it was sperm from a high IQ, healthy and great looking human being) 4. We had our baby girl in 2005 – we are both on her birth certificates. 5, Child has 2 moms. She realizes she could have had a mom and dad; or a dad and dad or a single parent such as ONE MOM. Her take is that she prefers 2 moms to one. 6. She goes to a religious pre-school and is no different to her class pals. 7. We participate in scchool activities. 7. We have a gorgeous home in the country on one acre and a mortgage. 8. I own a business . 9. We were married by the Rabbis and received pour license from the court clerk. 10. We wanted to enter into a contract of marriage so we could have tax benefits, immigration rights, social security benefits, share our income while one stayed at home with the child and the other worked.
OKAY help me here I am scrambling to see what CRITERIA I am missing to be considered for marriage. If its mere “dickie boy” – if i needed one of those I could go down to the store and pick one up for 29.00 dollars (estimate) – I could choose the size/ the color/ the ….. My sperm bank is open 24/7 so I could get sperm anytime I wanted….. I am still trying to figure out what criteria ? Please respond. Melanie Nathan
