Progressive Women Protest Billboard for 7th Day Regardless of Male Bullies

The billboard, located at 4855 Miller Road, shows two cartoonish images of Obama wearing a Muslim turban and reads “PRESIDENT or JIHAD?” It also says “BIRTH CERTIFICATE – PROVE IT!” alluding to the conspiracy theory which claims Barack Obama was born in Kenya rather than Hawaii, which would disqualify him for the office of President. The words “WAKE UP AMERICA! REMEMBER FT. HOOD!” appear on the bottom of the billboard. The sign belongs to a sleazy looking bloke (sorry my judgment) used car dealer who describes his business as a “car dealership.”
“Since Fort Hood, I’ve had it,” owner Phil Wolf, displaying an educated command of the English language, told FOX 31 News Friday. “You can’t suggest things. You can’t profile. You gotta call a spade a spade.” ”Everything I have read about Mr. Obama points right to the fact that he is a Muslim. And that is the agenda of what Muslim is all about. It’s about anti-American, it’s about anti-Christianity,” Wolf said. (I call that treason talk, Mr. Wolfe not freedom of speech – !)
The Anti-Defamation League condemned the sign, as did AM760 radio host David Sirota, who discussed the sign and interviewed Wolf on his program Friday morning. “It’s out of control,” Sirota said. “This conservative hatred of Barack Obama is out of contol, and this brings together all those strands of it: the racism, the anti-Muslim fervor. It’s one thing to criticize the president on health care, or Wall Street reform, or immigration. But this is outrageous. And I think it’s a fair question to ask why these questions about religion and ancestry are being directed so viciously at the first African-American President of the United States.”
“Are you a racist Wolf?” asked Ed Schultz on his ED SHOW, MSNBC TV? “I am not,” answered Wolf. I was unclear as to why Ed Schultz gave this apology of an American the time of day. Did Ed think he would get a retraction from him? Or an explanation that made any sense? Anyway I was much relieved to hear Mr. Schultz speaking to a woman named Pat on his radio show the next morning, and was proud of her resilience and her courage.
A small group of dedicated progressive women, led by PAT have been protesting at the Wolf car lot since last Friday. They are organizing a big protest for Saturday Nov 28, starting at 10 am (“until we run out of volunteers to carry signs”). This will probably go for at least 3-4 hours if the ladies’ past efforts are any guide. An internet notice said “Would be great if a lot of men showed up, this time too.”
On the Ed morning show, she explained how a few women had pulled together and protested at the site of the billboard in question. They braved the insults of a group of male bullies who went scurrying the moment men arrived to stand on the side of the women. The minute the good men left the little cowardly bullies would reappear with their insults and threats.
I thought Pat was amazing – a brave hero- standing before a group of adversaries for hours and enduring the insults. She insists on continuing her protest and will be out there tomorrow with a big request for many more to join her side and that of the progressive women who show no fear.
The ADL issued a statement calling the billboard an exploitation of the Ft. Hood shootings that is “divisive and offensive, and perpetuates hateful and harmful stereotypes about Muslims”, prominent conservatives have been silent thus far. “That could suggest that conservative leaders are afraid to confront the extreme fringe of their base,” Sirota said. “Or it suggests they actually condone this message. Either way, it’s disturbing.”

Having some men with them could help. The protesters and the sign are just 50 feet from I-70 Westbound so the protest has the potential to be seen by hundreds of thousands of Black Friday-Christmas Shoppers driving by on Saturday.
Their message is – Dust off your old Anti-Iraq War signs, impeach, Stop Torture, whatever… and bring them Saturday. Show the public what Wolf is so proud of. UPDATE Apparently Wolf had erected the Billboard in response to a challenge by a Denver radio host Peter Boyles, who hosts the top-rated morning program on Denver’s KHOW-AM, Wolf who owns multi State car lots is planning on erecting more Billboards across the Country.
My thoughts: Where does one draw the line? While freedom of speech serves our essence as a nation, this language is deplorable both in intent and effect. We are a Country at War. The proponents of this language are in essence committing a subversive and treasonous act when one considers all the circumstances. They accuse the President of the United States as being on the side of the enemy during a time of war? I would never have imagined seeing anything like this. Its not mere lack of decorum or common decency – it is a sign that racial hate is so intensely pervasive that it has the power to cause Americans to turn into traitors. Speaking of our President in the fashion has the significant stench of siding with the enemy.

We believe that every time the crazy right wingers trot out their ugliness, that the Left should throw it right back in their faces by reminding the voters that Bush, Cheney and their Torture Memo Lawyers renditioned captives, held them for up to seven years without charges, Tortured and sometimes murdered them. Torture and conspiracy to Torture are against our Federal Anti-Torture Laws.
Also remind voters that the Bush-Cheney WMD Lies got over 4,200 US Soldiers killed and over 30,000 maimed for Nothing, as Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11. Then remind voters of the horrors of Katrina. The damage the absurdly high gas prices did to our economy (caused by the illegal invasion of Iraq). You can go on and on. The birth certificate is a secondary issue while Obama’s father NOT an American citizen is the central issue. Obama even has stated in his book written by Bill Ayers that his father was a UK subject and Obama claimed dual citizenship. End result Obama was never eligible to run for the office and he should be forced to Resign Now! Most white Americans do not believe Obama is eligible to hold office. I’ll take a moment to comend you on your efforts to access goverment officials, and have them let you piddle in their ear for a good wrap up in the blog-o-sphere, so firstly, well done brown-tongue! According to the fallout which occurred between the new republic, and the english, certain measures were adopted to ensure that neither sovereign could steal the others citizens. In 1948, certain laws were again published concerning who had rightful ownership of citizens born to mixed relationships concerning english parents. This is especially important where America is concerned, because English politics and lifestyle are still considered abhorent to those loyal to the constitution. And the birth certificate does not list a delivering doctor who can be matched to a hospital at the time of obama’s birth, and you know that.

Section 1 of Article Two of the United States Constitution sets forth the eligibility requirements for serving as President of the United States:

The grandfather provision of the “natural born Citizen” clause provides an exception to the “natural born” requirement for those persons who were citizens at the time of the adoption of the Constitution. Most of these citizens had been born as British subjects before the American Revolution (or were born after the Revolution, but before 1787). Without this exception, ten subsequent presidents would have been constitutionally ineligible to serve.[1]
Additionally, the Twelfth Amendment states that: “[N]o person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.” The Fourteenth Amendment, adopted in 1868, defines a “Citizen” of the United States, but not necessarily a “natural born Citizen.” Its Citizenship Clause provides that “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are Citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”

Jon, The birth certificate is the primary issue! As Paula says, there aint no daddy. A person who is born to an undocumented person in the US can end up being President. Have you gone through all the previous Presidents to see who had ancestry from other countries. You may be in for a surprise. Many Muslims are our allies in the war against Al-Qaida. Many Muslims, including many Iranians, stood behind American after 9/11, and even supported the invasion of Afghanistan. Things did not go wrong until the US invaded Iraq.
Many hard working Muslims fight in our military today, and do so with honor. Many Muslims serve our nation with pride and with dedication. Major Hasan was, from all evidence, psychotic and had been so for some time. What you, Shane, are doing is bringing about the creation of more men like him. By becoming a bigot against Muslims, you encourage those weak in their faith to take up arms against the United States and to kill innocent people in defiance of the Quran.

In his opinion dissenting from the decision in Dred Scott v. Sanford 60 U.S. (19 How.) 393 (1857) Justice Benjamin R. Curtis wrote in considerable detail on this topic. His writing there is too lengthy to requote here in entirety; partially requoted, Justice Curtis wrote,
The first section of the second article of the Constitution uses the language “a natural-born citizen.” It thus assumes that citizenship may be acquired by birth. Undoubtedly, this language of the Constitution was used in reference to that principle of public law, well understood in the history of this country at the time of the adoption of the Constitution, which referred Citizenship to the place of birth. At the Declaration of Independence, and ever since, the received general doctrine has been, in conformity with the common law, that free persons born within either of the colonies, were the subjects of the King; that by the Declaration of independence, and the consequent acquisition of sovereignty by the several States, all such persons ceased to be subjects, and became citizens of the several States, [...] .
The Constitution having recognized that persons born within the several States are citizens of the United States, one of four things must be true:
First. That the constitution itself has described what native-born persons shall or shall not be citizens of such State, and thereby be citizens of the United States; or,
Second:. That it has empowered Congress to do so; or,

The answer is obvious. The Constitution has left to the States the determination what person, born within their respective limits, shall acquire by birth citizenship of the United States; italics in original]
However, this opinion pre-dates the Fourteenth amendment, which added to the constitution an explicit description of who shall be citizens, “making all persons born within the United States and subject to its jurisdiction citizens of the United States
I read your quoted judgment, and still find it proves nothing in respect to Obama’s natural born citizenship.
Stop blurring the edges, and realise that the four (4) concepts he mentioned do NOT allow cliam for natural born citizenship, but rather, assert that it is the determination of the state of birth to consider those people citizens, or NOT!
The judge uses the term NBC once, and then refers ONLY to citizenship relating to birth on us soil in saying that “it thus assumes that citizenship may be aquired by birth”………..note “Citizenship”, and NOT “Natural Born Citizenship”
It is clear you can’t understand legal judgements, or that you refuse to portray the real truth concerning the ruling you have cited.
No matter how you look at it, Obama is unqualified to serve the United states as POTUS…….. Yet supporter of this ‘Obama is not a citizen’ argument have gone to such lengths as to fabricate a fake birth certificate from Kenya just to “prove” their point.

First of all, you seem to have about as much understanding of Roman history as you do the English language.
As for the notion or the fact that the President has dual citizenship, I might point out that I know many a person who has dual citizenship and it does not disqualify them from being naturally born. You see, or you would if you had two functioning neurons, that a person may be the natural born citizen of the country where the birth took place- as in the United States of America- or may be considered to be a natural born citizen of a country due to lineage- as in, say, Germany. Given that I am of German descent, I can, at any time, claim German citizenship without compromising the fact that I am a natural born citizen of the United States. It is quite simple, really.
Then again, a man with such obvious testosterone poisoning as yourself must have trouble so much as putting together enough neural strength to scratch your scrotum. It must be incredibly difficult to actually put together enough neural energy to come up with a decent and coherent argument regarding facts when your brain is so addled by testosterone you cannot even come up with anything original, coherent, and accurate to insult a person with.

Given that the Birther and Tea Party movements are currently at each others throats, I somehow doubt that they’re on their way. In fact, I have a pretty good idea of just how that whole thing is going to play out as it slowly destroys the Republican Party and makes it impossible for them to regain a majority in 2010 and drops them all but into total minority status in 2012. There is no cohesion, no support for each other, and no apparent leader in any of them.
Oh yes, the reason the courts will not ‘hear’ the case is because the courts have heard the case in preliminary hearings and have deemed the evidence provided to either be insufficient or manufactured. I would like to point out that, since the US and OZ have the same legal set up- Anglo-Saxon Common Law- that that should be something you would know rather well.
