Meredith Baxter To Get Book Deal
12/20/09-by Paula Brooks
For Meredith Baxter, it has been a busy month…
Speaking to Matt Lauer on a December 2 episode of NBC’s Today show, Baxter, who played popular TV mom Elyse Keaton on the ’80s sitcom “Family Ties”, officially came out as lesbian to the nation.
Then latter, there were the rumors that Baxter and her partner, building contractor Nancy Locke, were planning to get married sometime next year in either Massachusetts or Canada.
Now the actress and skin-care company owner apparently has a book deal…
The Broadway Books imprint of Crown Publishing Group announced last week it had acquired the publishing rights to a book to be written by Ms. Baxter.
According to a news release from Baxter’s new publisher, …
Ms. Baxter “will present a fully realized portrait of her life as an actress, mother of five children, and grandmother, and will candidly discuss her fight with breast cancer, her 19 years of sobriety, entrepreneurship, and her decision to come out.”… (via NYTimes.com)
Terms of Baxter’s book deal, as well as the prospective publication date, have not yet been announced.
