Ugandans cash in as they move forward with Anti-Gay Bill

While we hear about Uganda continuing to move forward with passing its Anti-Homosexuality Bill that would criminalise homosexuality, free speech for homosexuals and failure to report a homosexual with anything up to life in prison (formerly included the death penalty), it’s business as usual in Uganda.

Today, Tullow Oil, a UK registered company that began in 1985 in the Republic of Ireland, announced that they have signed into a deal with Heritage Oil worth an immediate $1.35 billion USD.

Tullow’s Chief Executive Officer, Aidan Heavey, was named Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2005. He grew up in County Kildare in the Republic of Ireland. In an interview with the Uk paper, the Independent, he tells how he prides himself on keeping a family feeling in the company and how he just wants everyone to be happy and make a little money. Presumably he doesn’t worry too much about homosexual employees.
