82 Annual Academy Award Winner Run-Down

As
Melanie Nathan reported, there were two amazing moments at the
Oscars last night. The first was when
Sandra Bullock won “Best Actress” for “The Blind Side.” In a serious note, Bullock stated that people should be able to suceed regardless of race, sexual orientation, etc. She also showed the funny side that we all know and love and joked that
Meryl Streep is a good kisser and that they are lovers.
Another landmark last night, was that a woman finally won “Best Director.” Katheryn Bigelow took the Oscar for her directing in “The Hurt Locker.” It’s been a long time coming and Bigelow was visibly shaken. She won for “Best Picture” immediately afterward. Watching Bigelow win added a moment of sincerity to the award show, that sometimes lacks heart.
