Lesbian Kiss Results in Closure of 300 Bed All Girls Dorm
Melanie Nathan, 3-4-2010 – An all-girls boarding school in South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal province, housing three hundred students, has been closed, after students were assumed to be involved in lesbian relationships, based on two girls were caught kissing.
The report appeared in the BBC and the sentiment is that the school overacted.
Dumisile Nala, from a Corp called Child Line, told SABC, the South Africa broadcasting group that “Expelling children or anyone for such a reason is discriminatory” The South African Constitution states it that people should not be discriminated against because of their sexual orientation.
As you can see from my various articles on LGR I often call into question the fact that although South Africa allows same-sex marriage and protects gays from discrimination, the social milieu is mostly intolerant, and this is further depicted through the flagrant discrimination and hate expressed against gays and lesbians by officials and ministers of the Zuma (ANC) Government.
Can you imagine if in a straight scenario and boy was caught kissing a girl and then an entire dormitory was shut down. What do they think it’s a disease; that it will spread and kill?
