Right Wing Blogger Takes Credit For Vandalism Against Democratic Party Headquarters

The vandalism that occurred in the hours surrounding the final passage of the healthcare reform law do appear to have one thing in common, a man named Mike Vanderboegh. What is worse, among the occurrences since the passage of the healthcare reform bill are death threats against the children of lawmakers who voted to pass it into law. Those threats are now being investigated by the FBI.

The former Alabama Constitutional Militia leader and Right Wing blogger apparently called for the smashing of the windows of Democratic headquarters across the nation in a move that has overtones of Kristallnacht, the opening of the Nazi attacks on Jews in Germany. Kristallnacht involved a riot of vandalism which struck at Jewish property. Much of the damage included tons of broken glass which gave the rioting phase its name of Kristallnacht, or the Night of Broken Glass.

Vanderboegh said:

“We can break their windows. Break them NOW. And if we do a proper job, if we break the windows of hundreds, thousands, of Democrat party headquarters across this country, we might just wake up enough of them to make defending ourselves at the muzzle of a rifle unnecessary.”

Indeed, Mr. Vanderboegh took credit for those attacks. While he is claiming that he is not advocating violence, that appears to be his next step according to theat particular quote, and the fac that, in taking credit for his actions, he stated that this nation is on the edge of civil conflict- that is a Civil War.

According to Lyndsay Stauble, executive director of the Sedgwick County Democratic Party the brick that took out the glass door in her office had anti-Obama rhetoric scrawled on it. The brick that smashed into the Monroe County Democratic Headquarters in Rochester, NY had a note attached to it stating “Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice”

He called for a modern Sons of Liberty to strike at the Democrats. The act of vandalism most associated with the Sons of Liberty- the original American Revolution version that is- was to throw a lot of tea crates from the East India Company ships in Boston Harbor into the Boston Harbor. Namely, they are the origins of the Boston Tea Party. In the end, the acts of violence were from out of the same wing of the political spectrum as the Tea Parties who protested rather nastily and noisily over this weekend.
