RNC’s Michael Steele Spent Money On Sex Club, Chartered Jets

“It takes money to make money.” That is the explanation for why the Republican National Committee under Michael Steele wined and dined prospective donors and party members at places like Voyeur West Hollywood, an S&M themed club where topless dancers imitated lesbian sex acts. Of course, this only goes to show that the Republican Party has no problem with homosexuality so long as it is part of an elaborate sex act intended to titillate the prurient interests of the party’s members and is perfectly fine so long as it is confined to sex clubs and porn videos. The GOP’s people spent almost $2000 there at a time when the party’s fundraising is nearly non-existent and the party’s various apparati are nearly bankrupt.

Indeed, one review of Voyeur West Hollywood described it thusly “There are topless ‘dancers’ acting out S&M scenes throughout the night on one of the side stages. There’s a half-naked girl hanging from a net across the ceiling and at one point I walked to the bathroom and pretty much just stopped dead in my tracks to watch two girls simulating oral sex in a glass case.”

Of course, this is hardly the end of it. Apparently, Michael Steele and company have been spending money like it is on fire. Perhaps they are worried that the bank their funds are in will go belly up sometime soon.

At the Four Seasons in Los Angeles, the RNC spent roughly $6,500. In February alone, the RNC spent $12,000 on limousines. They spent $9,000 at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunset Boulevard. Of course, the RNC also spent $43,000 to hold their winter meeting in Hawaii, the birthplace of their mortal enemy- Barack Obama. It should be noted that despite claims that Hawaii is not part of the United States, at least according to the Birthers stoked up by the RNC, it is, in fact, part of the United States.

The RNC also spent $17,000 on chartered planes. It might have actually been cheaper to buy Michael Steele his own plane at that point.

According to Jonathan Strong of the Daily Caller:

Complaints, almost always expressed off the record, have been bitter. “This is not somebody who is out recruiting candidates,” said an aide who worked closely with Steele. “He is not meeting with donors. He’s not asking for money. The guy is writing his book or doing his speaking gigs, or whatever the hell else he fills his days with. Those are his priorities.”

While the RNC is painting a bright picture of their fundraising, in which they have indeed raised more than the Democrats of late, they are also starting with a much bigger deficit. Fundraising for both parties is down. Of course, one has to wonder just how the Tea Party activists are going to feel about the lavish, posh and elitist accommodations that Michael Steele and other Republicans have been enjoying of late especially when their unemployment checks run out thanks to Republican obstructionism.

RNC spent $1946.25 at sex-themed nightclub Voyeur West Hollywood.
