Queen Latifah Plays Straight in New Movie: Wants Money From Lesbian Fanbase

I’m so over Queen Latifah. Queen Latifah loves being straight! Look at her! A man is about to give it to her from behind and she’s loving it like she loves her Mickey D’s. She’s getting it her way like she’s at Burger King ordering the ten triple Whoppers required for her to keep her signature physique. This image is the poster for the “Queen’s” latest movie, “Just Wright.” Just Wright like her love for the man-woman heterosexual sex! Fox Searchlight pictures gave the following synopsis of the movie’s plot:

“Leslie Wright (Queen Latifah) is a straight-shooting physical therapist who gets the gig of a lifetime working with NBA All-Star Scott McKnight (Common). All is going well until Leslie finds herself falling for Scott, forcing her to choose between the gig and the tug-of-war inside her heart. Oblivious to her romantic overtures, McKnight is instead drawn to the affections of Leslie’s childhood friend Morgan (Paula Patton), who has her sights set on being an NBA trophy wife. Is Leslie destined to play the role of “best friend” forever or will Scott finally see that what he always wanted is right in front of him?”

Please note that Latifah’s character is described as “straight” in the first line of the synopsis. Basically Fox Searchlight is saying this: QUEEN LATIFAH IS STRAIGHT EVERYONE! EVERYBODY LISTEN UP, SHE’S TOTALLY NOT INTO THE “MUFF-MUNCHING” UNLESS YOUR DEFINITITION OF LOVING MUFF MEANS LOVING MUFFINS BECAUSE SHE LOVES THOSE!

I’m tired of hearing queer women say how hot or beautiful Queen Latifah is. She pretends to be straight, she doesn’t even just passively let people assume she’s straight, she pretends to love men. Latifah is also one of the producers of “Just Wright.” She’s not an actor who can’t choose her parts; she’s an active participant in this. Perhaps she doesn’t realize what a huge step forward her coming out would be to the thousands of African American lesbians who need visibility, whose families might listen to a well liked celebrity telling them it’s ok for black women to be gay. If you think that sounds ridiculous, think of all the people who have move closer to accepting lesbians ever since Ellen starting coming into their living rooms everyday.

Basically to sum up this post, I don’t like Queen Latifah. I think she is happy to rake in cash from her faithful lesbian fanbase, because the LGBT community really are the most loyal fans any celebrity can have. She wants your money so she can live her charmed life as a closeted woman. She’s a fake ass bitch and we should call it like it is, she’s not attractive. I do love beautiful, curvy women, but I’m not going to pretend anymore that having curves on your elbows is hot just because Latifah is a fellow lezzie.

It is harsh, but that’s because her marketing strategy is so over the top. You would never see the queens of romantic comedies put out a trashy poster like this. Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Lopez, Kate Hudson and Katherine Heigl wouldn’t be caught dead posing for a movie poster with their ass in a guys crotch. Not only is Queen Latifah living a lie, but she is overcompensating by pushing heterosexuality to the point of farce. Just like Terry said, it’s like when Rosie pretended to have a crush on tom cruise. it was annoying. Also, Fox is using that blurb to market their movie to millions of Americans. They invested millions of dollars to make and market this movie, every word in that summary was picked for a reason.
Latifah is living a dishonest life. I can’t respect that and I can’t find that attractive, if anyone else does, it’s their perogative.

Woah, that’s kind harsh, no?

I can’t agree with you on this one… I’m sorry. I think all people, celebrity or otherwise, have a right to come out or not.

It’s not our business.

It’s her life and we don’t know a) if she is gay and b) if she is, what reasons she has for not coming out.

I’m also not sure what all that has to do with her attractiveness. I think she’s a straight up hottie. If for nothing else than her self-confidence.

But that ass doesn’t hurt either.

I’m trying to correlate how her sexuality impedes on acting ability? I don’t know what goes on in Queen Latifah’s bedroom, only because I’ve never been in there. So despite what many of us may assume from the outside, her sexuality is not only truly irrelevant, but none of our business. She’s an artist, and her sexuality has nothing to do with her acting skills. Let’s focus on her art and all the activism she’s taken on, using her celebrity to push causes forward.
