5-4-10  – MELANIE NATHAN

Tonight when you go to sleep  and you look over at the person  you fell in love with, married and vowed to spend the rest of your life with;

Think about Madison, a Binational same sex partner, who has not been able to reach over toward his beloved, for the better part of many years;

Tomorrow when you and your family get up and eat oatmeal, drink steamy coffee with smooth buttered toast;

Think of Madison whose heart breaks as he thinks of his beloved, starving abroad;

Tomorrow when you go to the office and you head South on the 101, and look at the motorists in their vehicles set for the days adventure,

Think about Madison who is sitting in his store, trying to reach his life partner, unsure if the time change or  the satellite blocks, will render his calls useless;

And so it goes on… and on…. and on….

and while it does

Think of Madison

Because there are those amongst us, who when they go to sleep tonight and look over at the person they married and vowed to spend the rest of their life with, will not give a damn, even though they may well be one of the very ones with the power and congressional capability to change this egregious and heartbreaking day for Madison.

After you watch this Video of Senator Jeff Session at the Senate Judiciary hearing almost a year ago to the date,

Think about Madison and Imagine how he must feel with horrendous people like this … voted by Bigots so that they can govern as Bigots

and then again Think about Madison.

    Yes, it’s very emotional taxing when you can’t be with your beloved. We didn’t purposely look for someone from another country to fall in love with, why would we even want to give so much trouble to ourselves by doing that, even if we’re allowed to immigrate to each other’s country easily? Leaving everything behind in your home country & going to a foreign land for whatever reason aren’t everyone’s dream. But you’ve to do it, you want to do it when you fell in love deeply & you know that someone means a whole lot to you, you want no others even you can be with the others easily.

    “I have loved to the point of madness, that which is called madness, that which to me is the only sensible way to love” (Francoise Sagan). Yes, it feels good that you found a love which is worth to even sacrifice your life for, someone whom you’re so willing to work hard for, a love which is not easy but you can hold on even if it takes you through your worst nightmare, but we’re separated by human’s law. These people not only think they should’ve their right to be with whomever they want, they also think they’ve their right to stop other people from having their right to be with whomever they want.

    You don’t have to love us, you don’t even have to like us, but please release us from this prison. You’re no different than people from the past who would punish victims because they had premarital sex. Well, that’s a past, & I know discrimination against LGBT would be a past someday, but we’re here in this struggling period of change. So, please move forward with your thinking. Believe me, down the years, your great great great grandchildren will be thinking about you like you were thinking now about people who practiced slavery.

    Yes, I know US is a Christian country, but isn’t it that everyone is free to practice a religion they believe in? Maybe you should’ve Christian Laws & National/Country Laws separately. I’m from Malaysia, it’s a Muslim country, they’ve Islamic/Shariah Law & National Law. They’ll use the Shariah Law to arrest Muslim women who either dressed too sexy or dressed like a tomboy. Since Christian extremists in the US want to practice their religious rules, they should impose it to believers only, & only to Christians in their own denomination. You must know that not everyone believes in the same thing you believed in. Forcing your beliefs on others just makes you no different than the Taliban.
