Austin Texas. Tomorrow is a great day  in Texas as activists from around the country are showing up for an exciting Equality Conference.

Profound issues, experts, strategists and Advocates and includes none other than Lezgetreal’s very own Melanie Nathan, from San Francisco, renowned for her work in the Advocacy and Immigration arenas.

Mel will be speaking about her previously published ‘The idea for a Pink Print – Time for an Amendment to The Civil Rights Act.   GO Support Mel and all Speakers, including Amos Lim from San Francisco’s Out4Immigration.

This is a time when we have reached a “T” Junction in the LGBTQI movement- we need to make some tough strategic decisions. The Texas Conference is an opportunity for activists from around the Country to talk strategy  and what could be more fitting than on the Day we celebrate Harvey MILK.

The conference is being held at:

Austin Community College Eastview campus
3401 Webberville Road
Austin, TX 78702-3004
More info on the conference — including workshop schedules — can be found at: www.eaatexas.org

After the Conference, Dawn to Dusk, there will be a Rally and March to Texas Capitol at 6.30 PM -

There are 20 million LGBTQ persons in the Untied States. There are about 2,000 self-described “activists.” This should give everyone an idea about how useful these silly misfits are.

The strategy is DEMANDING. Just get loud enough and rude enough and everything will be great. This is exactly how a toddler thinks.

GetEQUAL is the latest group of “street performers” and they have been ignored by the media and the LGBT Community. It is childish to think we can just “demand” our way to victory.

Try to come up with something useful or effective. Barney Frank was right GetEQUAL is “stupid and childish” and “they don’t change any minds.”

We need fewer ‘activists” and more thinkers. Complaining is easy, thinking requires some real effort.

Please STOP embarrassing the LGBT Community with your childish stunts.

Justin – one simple question – were you at the Rally and workshop conference in Texas, Austin to be exact this last weekend. If you were there and made this comment that would give you validity – if you were not then you have posted this statement in the wrong place. I suggest you post in the applicable places. My interest is changing the status of LGBT community by attaining equality through a civil rights amendment.. Nothing immature about that! How we do it is another story and frankly there is room for any form of protest right now.

A piece of advice – if you do find the right place to post your ‘nahna nah na na’ comment do not forget to provide a detailed alternative when criticizing the actions of others who are passionate in their cause. Give them a better way if you know it.

The groups you mention is not us- we are the messengers.
