“Hello, I am here on behalf of the homosexual agenda, have you accepted The Gay into your life?” Apparently, that is what groups like the American Family Association believe that we lesbians and gays are doing on a daily basis as if we are, somehow, just like they are. After all, how many people out there have had to deal with some poor person coming to the door to let them know that the Good Book will solve all of their problems through prayer and donations to the rather now wealthier guy up in front of the congregation in the suit and tie or robe? This myth is rooted in the belief that homosexuality is a choice and not innate to the person. That it is a biological imperative in a way that religion is not baffles the anti-LGBT people, and the only choice that lesbians, gays, transpeople, bisexuals have is to not feel shame over the issue of their biologically driven imperatives. We are all born this way and can either choose to live a life of utter and complete misery such as George Rekers and suppress and deny our nature or we can spend the rest of our lives living as who we were created.
The AFA is busy attacking Home Depot for offering children’s activities during their Pride events. Of course, lesbians and gays do not have children, and this must be a nefarious plot dreamed up by Home Depot to tempt children into a “homosexual lifestyle.” I have yet to figure out what a “homosexual lifestyle” is, and I have been lesbian for as long as I can remember. Of course, for so many homophobes out there, it means taking long, cold showers and having massages. Of course, given what I have recently found out, Home Depot may be doing its part to help bring together many lesbian couples.
It should not be surprising that the American (not about the) Family Association is busy attacking Home Depot for everything including the fact that they offer benefits to domestic partners of employees, and that includes many lesbians and gays. The homophobic group which has been lambasting the right of lesbians and gays to fight openly in the military was founded by a man who is now famous for having hired a baggage handler to stand around and look handsome while he pushed a cart full of luggage around.
An article recently published by County Fair included an excerpt from World Net Daily’s support of the AFA’s homophobic rant about children’s activities at Home Depot’s Pride events:
Is Home Depot seeking to introduce children to the homosexual lifestyle?
The home-improvement giant has sponsored yet another “gay” pride event and provided children’s craft workshops “in the midst of loud and boisterous gay activities” at the 2010 Southern Maine Pride Festival in Portland, Maine, according to the American Family Association.
“The worst offense is that Home Depot has set up kids’ workshops at these gay pride festivals,” explains AFA’s director of special projects. “These are events that have loud, boisterous homosexual activists making their voices heard – and Home Depot is putting money behind setting up kids’ booths at these kinds of events.”
In a form letter to Home Depot, AFA tells the company its inclusion of children’s activities at homosexual events is “irresponsible” and encourages children’s attendance.
[…]
AFA spokesman Randy Sharp told One News Now, “You know, it’s very simple. Home Depot should be like a lot of Fortune 500 companies and simply remain neutral in the culture war – don’t give money, don’t give vehicles, don’t lend employee support to homosexual activities on Main Street USA.”
Yes, because so many businesses do not have partner benefits. The United States government actually lags behind most Fortune 500 companies when it comes to domestic partner benefits because of a homophobic and unconstitutional law crafted to prevent lesbians and gays from getting legally married in the US. Also, apparently, the AFA seems to think that “gay activities” is code word for an orgy. If the lesbian community is having wild orgies of hot naked sex, someone has not sent me the invitation. Though, it should not be surprising that the brains of so many homophobes in the AFA are busy wondering what they are missing out and, indeed, think that there is a lot of hot, naked sex going on every time there’s a Pride Event or two or more lesbians or gay men get together in one place. After all, they seem to be obsessed with homosexual sex and seem to forget that many lesbians, gays, transpeople, etc have families, and even young children.
To be honest, most lesbian and gay families are surprisingly normal.

Yes! I made sure when I got up this morning to get out my “gay life style” to do list so that I could check things off and make sure that I was extremely gay. Let me see, stumbled to the bathroom to get shower after making coffee…check! Packed my lunch….check! Pretty sure that tuna salad and an apple is a prety gay meal. Looked for the car keys because they were not where I thought I left them….but I did so in a very gay life style way..check! Drove to work, but tried to sit in traffic in as gay a way as possible so that I could attract as many converts to the gay life style aas possible…check! Wow, I am more gay before 8am than most people are all day!!! LOL

SF Pride is this weekend. The entire known gay universe will be there (because we all know each other from those secret “gaydar” signals). Those not attending will be working on the final draft of the
international homosexual agenda, destroying the fabric of American traditional family values, subverting the status quo, frightening the horses, and then . . . brunch
Except me. I’m writing, organizing some PFLAG stuff, writing my tepid congress representative, re-potting geraniums, turfing out the iris bed, and painting water-seal on the new fence for my mom.

Thank you. I have just over a month before the pain will be out of my life forever, and I will be, at least legally, female, or at least sometime after that since I have to go to court to get everything amended. I also have a gift for writing, but I know that I need to get out into the forests in order to write a lot more. My dreams- I do a lot of dream work- have indicated that I need to get out in nature a lot more. I live so close to the forests, and it aggravates me that I can’t go out there and be among the forests and the mountains. My aunt calls them the Bones of the Mother since they are the oldest mountains in the world.
Take care.

It’s not a secret. I was born male, and only just now going through transition. I’ve been on HRT for two years now. Ten years ago, in a fit of depression, I tried to castrate myself. I did enough damage to seriously hurt myself, but not enough to actually accomplish what I wanted. As I started HRT, the scarring caused a lot of pain. I go into the hospital for a bit of minor surgery which will put an end to my body producing a lot of its own testosterone and relieve the pain. Most of this is across the blog somewhere, so it’s no problem. I can walk about three blocks before the pain is too much.

Paula – Unlike YOU, I participated in only gay activities today. I mowed a portion of the lawn, bathed dogs, looked on eBay, and played tennis with the kid. Obviously I am gayer than gay.

Bridgette – Are you a workaholic? Great work on these posts yet, does all work and no play make Bridgette a tired girl?

I love writing. In between stories, I write things that I rarely post on the blog. I posted one of my stories on the blog earlier today, and that is something I enjoy doing a lot of. I just cannot go out as much as I would like, so I do a lot of writing. This story (http://lezgetreal.com/2010/06/visit-to-the-cultural-museum/) was started on 23 April, and I’ve worked on it since.
