Blithering Bigots Notice LGR’s Work On Behalf Of ENDA

There comes a point where one has to laugh at the blatant bigotry regarding a particular issue.  Right now, Reverend Ted Pike is aghast and horrified at the idea of women using women’s locker rooms and women’s restrooms.  Oh wait, he is aghast and horrified at the prospect of transwomen using women’s locker rooms and restrooms.  Of course, realizing that he is on the losing end of the debate regarding bathrooms, which is part of ENDA, incidentally, Pike went on a tirade regarding transwomen using women’s locker rooms.

Actually, Reverent Pike is actually not blithering about transgender protections being bad or immoral, but rather anything that destroys his perfect little fictional Christian world.  In a rant that is as antisemitic as it is homophobic and transphobic, Reverend Pike goes on to accuse the Anti-Defamation League of pushing “sodomy so hard in every level of society,” as if one really needed a homoerotic image to, well, drive home the possibility that Reverend Pike is just another George Rekers.  Of course, he believes that “In all this, ENDA ignores the possibility that the civil rights of children, teens and college students might be violated by intrusion of lechers into their showers.”  Yes, because transpeople, and especially transwomen, shower in the same school locker rooms as children and teens.  As a teenager, I do not remember anyone- male or female- who actually USED the showers in the locker rooms.  There really was not enough time between the end of gym and the bell to do more than get changed.  As for college, because you could go back to your dorm room between classes, people usually did not shower after class.  The reality is that those showers are, usually, used for people who are on sports teams.

Of course, Reverent Pike seems to be of the rather confounding belief that allowing a transwoman into a women’s bathroom is going to mean that it will erupt into an orgy of hot naked vertebrate sex.  Having been in the women’s restroom on many an occasion, I can honestly state that has not happened.

The reality is that Reverent Pike is busy using the transgender protections in order to try and get the entirety of ENDA voted down because he is afraid that Christian civilization will come to an end.  According to him,

ADL wants ENDA to force showering between all students and sexual deviants because only then can this legislation reach its fullest potential to destroy sexual/gender clarity and morality in the next generation. Jewish ADL and its religiously Orthodox leader, Abe Foxman, have one goal: tearing down the structure and values of Christian civilization so that on its ruins a Judaic one-world order may be established by Israel’s false messiah, Anti-Christ. Foxman says he keenly anticipates appearance of this messiah. Orthodox Jews believe their messiah will rule the world from Jerusalem. Few things are more corrosive to nations than homosexuality, destroying basic definitions and protections for “male” and “female.”. . .Don’t think that under ENDA your children will have any protection from sexual predators in the public school system. Under ADL’s hate laws, devotees of 547 sexual deviancies, or paraphilias, have  all the special rights. Under ENDA, they are the state-supported predators. Your children are their prey

Of course, it might be notable that the civilizations which have embraced homosexuality and transsexuality have often flourished for centuries until they were rather brutally conquered by those who do not.  Often, those civilizations that conquered them did not last for several centuries.

I do not know if I should be flattered that the NPN is mentioning my work.  They are, after all, not the LA Times or AfterEllen, but they have noticed me, and even mentioned me in this.  Reverent Pike wrote “Bridgette P. LaVictoire, writing in lesbian website LezGetReal.com, reflects awareness in the homosexuality community of ENDA’s discrimination: ‘The largest stumbling block has been regarding transgender protections. Unfortunately, in order to get those protections in the bill, they were forced to include a rather discriminatory portion about not allowing a person to use the bathrooms correct to their gender presentation. This opens the door to a great deal of abuses and problems unless there is also a provision that requires businesses to have a unisex bathroom.’” Of course, under his belief system, I would still be male, but he is the one who is confused since the version of ENDA that I was looking at when I wrote that particular article discussed restrooms.  What is not easy to understand is exactly what he is trying to say here.  I am more than aware of ENDA’s problems with regards to women’s facilities because I have experienced those problems myself growing up.

In truth, Pike is busy trying not to sound antisemitic, homophobic, and transphobic without success.  It was actually difficult to write this in order to go after him because he does not make any sense what so ever.  It seems like he wants to try and cram every single last little bit of bigotry into here he can and he never seems to succeed except in order to create a miasma of blithering bigotry and hate. The confusion in ENDA comes from the legalese that it is written in and the fact that the English Language does not have proper words for anything other than two genders- male and female, and two sexes- man and woman. Anything else just ends up confusing the whole blasted thing.
