		<description>Thank you for the clarification.  Not all of the source material was entirely clear on this information.  Incidentally, the &#039;nerve sparing&#039; surgeries are not always as sparing of the nerve bundles as people think that they are.</description>

		<description>In the interest of maintaining factual accuracy on this developing story, I would like to suggest a correction to your article.  You said:  &quot;The length of time between the clitoridectomy and the clitoraplasty can reduce that surgery’s chance of success to near zero.&quot;  This suggests that Dr. Poppas is removing a patient&#039;s clitoris and then subsequently performing a clitoraplasty, which is not the case.  He is performing a single surgical procedure that removes some of the tissue of the clitoris to reduce its size while leaving the nerve bundles attached throughout the procedure.  The clitoris itself is not detached or removed.  While I am fundamentally opposed to this procedure and find the followup methodology abhorrent, I do think it is crucial for those of us voicing opposition to ensure that we get our facts straight and not be seen as exaggerating the (already thoroughly horrific) details.</description>
