Queen Latifah hosted the BET awards on Sunday night. At one point in the evening, she poked fun at the lesbian rumors about herself saying that she’s “only seen in the company of fine women.” However, the line was part of a skit about a lesbian character that Queen Latifah played in a movie about 15 years ago. The character was Cleo, a lesbian bank robber in the 1996 movie, “Set it Off.” This is basically the role that set off the lesbian rumors about her in the first place.
Zap2it is reporting that twitter exploded with searches for the Queen’s real sexuality shortly after her announcement. However, they too postulate that it was part of a skit. Oh well, so close!
