When Elton John recently appeared at Rush Limbaugh’s fourth wedding, the gay community was surprised, to say the least. Rush Limbaugh is a conservative hypocrite, who hates gays and thinks that he should be allowed to be a drug abuser but that people who don’t have the money to pay their way out of jail shouldn’t. He also hates marriage equality but has abused the sanctity of marriage as hard as he has abused drugs.
Anyway, what was Elton John doing performing at the wedding of someone who hates the homosexuals? Elton explains:
Elton said, ‘Life is about building bridges, not walls. (It was an opportunity) to go where people wouldn’t expect me to go. And maybe if I can make a great impression, people might change their perspectives on life.’”
During the performance, Elton said:
‘I suppose you all wonder why I’m here tonight?’ But ultimately, it’s a bit like an olive branch, I guess.”
Elton’s husband, David Furnish tells people magazine that Limbaugh and his new wife (who can even remember the name of the fourth one? I mean FOUR? you f#(@& hypocrite) have invited them to hang out with them again. If Elton John can change Rush’s mind about the gays, than all the power to him. But someone should probably tell him this isn’t going to work. It will just put Rush in the position to say “some of my best friends are gay, that doesn’t mean we agree about marriage equality.” But Elton gets props for trying. Who knows? Maybe it will work.

Rush doesn’t discriminate against anybody except liberals, and he explains why that is. He doesn’t like the fact that a small group of people should tell other people how to run their lives. He doesn’t like that a small group of people are trying to take money from successful people and give it to people who haven’t done anything for themselves in order to get their votes. He’s all about promoting individual’s to live to their fullest potential, and has absolutely no prejudice for anyone’s race, gender, or sexual preference.
Paula if you want to hear him state this on his show, you can find it on numerous days at rushlimbaugh.com’s recorded transcripts. You can also look at a transcript from the 2009 CPAC. He opens his speech explaining exactly that.

Maybe if you actually listened to his show you would know he doesn’t discriminate or bash homosexuals. You sound really ignorant in blatant disregard for fact.
Via Washington Post……
“On some social issues, like abortion, Limbaugh is a conventional conservative. On others he sounds a lot like Barack Obama. In an interview last summer, he told me that he regards homosexuality as most likely determined by biology, considers other people’s sex lives to be none of his business and supports gay civil unions. I’m pretty sure that Elton John’s sexual orientation never even crossed Limbaugh’s mind.”

Nan,
I have listened to Rush Limbaugh, and let me say, you obviously do not want the best for the LGBT community if you listen to him and his homophobic homoerotic rhetoric.

could you cite an example for me? I here they are becoming friends. Is it possible you have preconcieved ideas about someone that are less than accurate?
