The lunch area was “filled with magazines depicting scantily clad women for the male detectives’ sexual gratification,” the suit says.

And she was often the target of lesbian jokes and insults. “I was told I was useless, worthless,” she told the Daily News. “They didn’t want me there.”

About two weeks later, he walked toward her and “simulated masturbating,” her suit says.

After complaining, the veteran cop said she suffered one final affront – an assignment to the dreaded midnight shift. She retired in August 2009 after more than 18 years on the job.

“I feel betrayed by the NYPD,” she said from her Orange County home. “I was a hell of a good cop.”

Problems started in early 2008 after she was hurt while responding to a robbery, she said. A fellow detective, Ralph Argiento, called her at home to say, “You will not be given any more cases,” according to court papers.

The Ralph Argiento is refuting Ramery’s claims. In fact, not only are they reputing it, but they are implying that she was a sexual predator while on the job. He said that she would ‘undress’ female prisoners with her eyes to the point where she made the perps ‘uncomfortable.’ Because all lesbians are attracted to all women right? He also claims that there were no girlie mags in the station, but there were women’s cooking magazines. Right.

The 40 million dollar suit seems a little excessive, but maybe if there is a harsh penalty for harassing lesbians, workplaces will be less inclined to let this type of behavior slide.
