The first Out of the Box: 2010: LGBT Web Series Festival is open to the public this Saturday, June 26th. The festival will take place at New World Stages (340 w. 50th St., NYC) at 7PM. Actress Robin Dalea, who plays Rasha, in the popular lesbian webseries “The Real Girls Guide to Everything Else,” will be in attendance as well as sitting on a panel discussion. Other hosts and panelists include:

  • Anyone But Me: Tina Cesa Ward (Executive Producer/ Writer/Director), Susan Miller (Executive Producer/Writer) & Jessy Hodges (“Sophie”)
  • Brooklyn is for Lovers: Shandor Garrison (Creator/Writer/Director) & Paul Case (“Casey”)
  • Christopher Street TV: Dwight Allen O’Neal (“Christopher”/Series Creator)
  • Drama Queenz: Dane Joseph (“Jeremiah”), Kristen-Alexzander Griffith (“Davis”), Troy Valjean Rucker (“Preston”)
  • Gay’s Anatomy: Karina Mangu-Ward (Director/Producer/Writer) & Bobby Hodgson (Co-creator)
  • Ha! The Web Series: Scott Nevins (“Pastor Bob”), Larry Rabin (Director)
  • Queer Arts Now: KS Stevens (co-host)
  • Weiner & Weiner: Marjorie Dewitt (Actor/Editor), Freddy Franklin (Actor)

Webseries have become a great way for the queer artists to express themselves as well as for the queer community to find shows and characters that they relate too. The festival will also screen a few of the series, so drop by and check it out! I’m planning on going too, so you can come and let me know exactly what you think of me.
