As everyone knows by now, Perez Hilton posted an upskirt shot of Miley Cyrus on his twitter account. Perez posted a video responding to the allegations of child pornography. He states that Cyrus was wearing panties in the picture and that she’s not so stupid that she wouldn’t wear panties in public. She is however, according to Perez, very unladylike in her posture. That unlady-likeness is why he posted to picture in order to “teach” her how to act like a lady. He intercuts his video with footage of Miley Cyrus performing her new single ‘Can’t be Tamed’ on Britain’s Got Talent, specifically showing her faux lesbian kiss with a dancer.

Homophobic much, Perez? It is unladylike to kiss girls? Is that something Miley should be ‘taught’ not to do or is it an example of an out of control teen slut that deserves public derision? Like, deserves for pictures of her private parts to be posted on the internet? That’s disgusting.

More disgusting, Perez is mocking Miley further, both with his ‘apology’ video and on his twitter account, saying:

I can’t wait to attend and be a presenter at the @MuchMusic Awards in Toronto this Sunday, co-hosted by #MileyCyrus!

I’m sure that now that you have humiliated the girl, she will be very happy to see you too, Perez.

Personally, I have mixed feelings about Perez Hilton in general. Mainly stemming from his slut-shaming of very young women. Miley Cyrus and Vanessa Hudgens bear the brunt of his need to make young women feel shamed about their sexuality. Should Miley cover up? Yes. Should Perez Hilton try to shame her into covering up? No. That’s not his place and he’s simply perpetuating the cycle, he’s telling women they can get famous and get free publicity on his blog if they act slutty. It’s a vicious cycle. Perez Hilton has called Vanessa Hudgens a slut for years, based on a nude picture she sent to a boyfriend that was leaked to the media. It’s unclear why that one picture would make her a ‘slut’ for years. Perez even went on the radio to claim he was dating her longtime boyfriend, Zac Efron. It’s confusing. He’s sending mixed messages and he’s not helping anyone.
