Bill O’Reilly Gets Sarah Palin To Support Amnesty For Illegals- Sort Of

07/12/10-by Bridgette P. LaVictoire
What would Sarah Palin, the half term governor of Alaska, do if she were President? Specifically, what would she do about all those pesky illegal aliens in this nation? She would make them register with the government.

Wait. . .WHAT?!

Apparently, FOX talking head Sarah Palin would make the illegal aliens register with the government and then deport anyone who does not register in sixty days. Um . . .is that not an amnesty?

Palin was speaking with Bill O’Reilly on his show, and he backed her into that one full force. O’Reilly has shown up Palin’s lack of intelligence over and over again. She was so on her own script regarding his questions regarding securing the border since he assumed that she would finish the ‘danged’ fence and send in tens of thousands of National Guard troops to militarize the border. . .when they get back from militarizing the Afghanistan/Pakistan border.

I’m a little surprised to see Bill go after Palin. It seems like one thing the GOP is consistently better at is party unity.

Just for this argument’s sake, let’s call Sarah Palin’s proposal “amnesty”. What we have now with millions of illegal aliens pouring through open borders is a type of de facto amnesty that is OUT OF CONTROL. At least Ms. Palin’s version of “amnesty” fulfills the obligation of the federal government to effect some common-sense CONTROLS over the situation. Had she been permitted to fully exposit her proposal, I would hope it would include a return to an enforced work permit program for migrant workers. I don’t call that amnesty and, even if you do call it “amnesty”, I say bring it on, the sooner the better!

      Mr. Perkins,

I’m not sure that you understand what “common-sense controls” amount to, nor what the amnesty proposal amounts to either. From the sounds of it, you have bought into Ms Palin’s rationale without ever noticing that what she was just proposing- sans the idiotic fence- is a lot of what is being talked about now. Of course, since the GOP is unwilling to do anything but throw temper tantrums about losing the White House, nothing will get done about beefing up border security or working on a program to get the illegals to register with the government and get them on a path to citizenship.
