Curve Magazine, the nation’s most popular lesbian publication, has fallen on hard times. So much so, that they might have to close their doors after serving the lesbian/bi/queer community for 20 years! The popular mag posted the following on their Facebook page:

Please help Curve continue to publish by making a donation today. We can’t do it without your help!

Right now, Curve is celebrating our 20th anniversary in print, and, though we’ve cut costs everywhere, we’re questioning whether we’ll make it to our 21st. We’ve been through this before twice in curve history (many of you were along with us as we battled a lawsuit in the early ’90s) so we know what we’re experiencing is survivable—especially by such crafty women—but we just can’t do it anymore without outside support.

Here’s how can you help?

Buy a subscription for yourself or your girlfriend

Send Curve a donation. Vote for lesbian media with your wallet. We’ve made it easy. https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=43VRJZ6VRLXMJ

Buy tickets to Curve’s 20th Anniversary Gala (October 16, 2010 in San Francisco) and meet some of the celebrities and everyday women who have supported curve over the years. It’s a fundraiser that’ll help usher us into 2011.

Just remember, we can’t do it without your help. Now.

Note: Donations are not tax deductible but we cannot continue publishing without them. Please help us keep lesbian publishing alive by donating today. Any amount will help us! Thank you!

If you love Curve and want to see them stay alive, donate money or finally get that subscription that you are your girlfriend were talking about. You know, so you can get it delivered to your door and read it in bed everymorning. Curve is one of the few magazines that are for us by us, don’t let it fold.

I began cigarettes when I was 14 years old. That appears to be the worst mistake of my life. Right now 20 years later and I have lung cancer. Whilst looking to stop smoking cigarettes, I saw the electronic cigarettes and will try it out. With some luck, it’ll assist me with this terrible habit.

Honestly I would rather donate to the 15 lesbians who are current victims of “corrective rape” in South Africa… living in 2 rooms – seriously I cant see my way to helping a for profit organization just because they cover lesbian stuff. But I am sure there are many fans who will. Buyer beware – when you donate money to a business – you have no guarantee that your money is put to good use or will even that they will stay in business. By the way – at lezgetreal we dont get paid at all – so send your dollars our way too while you are about it!!! hehehe…. However Buying a subscription to CURVE is a GREAT IDEA and a good way to show support, so Nat thanks for bringing this to our attention.
