Elton John is Down with Arizona Xenophobia

In light of the racist laws being enacted in Arizona, many artists have been showing their disgust with the State by publicly speaking out about the laws and refusing to play there. Some of these artists include Shakira, Ricky Martin, anyone associated with Lilith Fair, Carlos Santana, Willie Nelson, Juanes, Zack de la Rocha of Rage Against the Machine, Los Tigres del Norte, Sonic Youth and Kanye West. Elton John, however, doesn’t see the big problem.
Joe. My. God. has a quote from Elton John that he said during his concert in Tucson last Thursday.
“We are all very pleased to be playing in Arizona. I have read that some of the artists won’t come here. They are fuckwits! Let’s face it: I still play in California, and as a gay man I have no legal rights whatsoever. So what’s the fuck up with these people?”
Yeah, Elton. You tell those celebrity crybabies that requiring anyone who looks even vaguely latino to carry around their birth certificates at all times is no big deal. It’s just a little racism right? No biggie.
Who can blame Elton? Arizona is a rising power. The social scene in Tucson and Phoenix is exploding and there is a ton of money to be made there. Elton has already proved that he is all about the Benjamins by performing at hatemonger Rush Limbaugh’s fourth wedding for a (rumored) million dollars. Elton, next time you see Rush Limbaugh and his fourth wife, tell them I say wat up.

It’s amazing how the crazies come out of the woodwork when Elton actually exhibits a bit of common sense. The law prohibits racial profiling. It’s actually more restrictive than the federal law it was based on. You know the one that the feds refuse to enforce. But some how this makes Arizona racist because they actually want to try and control the border and protect its citizens. Typical liberal nonsense.

1. Mexican is not a race, it is a nationality. Not all Mexicans are dark-skinned, some are even fair-skinned, blond haired and blue eyed.
2. If there were 12 million Scandinavians instead of Mexicans in the USA illegally, would you still complain about Arizona’s new law?
3. Arizona’s laws are based on federal laws. I haven’t heard about anyone suing the US Government or even speaking out against the federal laws.
4. How many immigrants, illegal or otherwise, do you personally know? I know quite a few and it is pretty easy to tell who was born in the USA and who wasn’t. The whole idea of police stopping every dark-skinned person in Arizona and asking for papers is ludicrous.
5. Please come spend a significant time in Arizona or one the other border states before prejudging us. Life down here is very different from from life in a NYC high rise apartment.

Elton John is a sick puppy; A perfect study case for those who want to learn about the effects of drugs on the brain. Most gays I’ve met are usually sensitive people who care aboout the suffering and negative profiling of others. Elton should be ashsamed of himself.
