Judge Refuses To Give Immediate Money To Tammy Lynn Michaels In Divorce From Melissa Etheridge

The judge hearing the dissolution of the union between Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels has rejected Ms Michaels’ argument that she did not have any money to live on and that her need of $25,000 for living expenses and legal fees. Neal Hersh, Etheridge’s lawyer, stated that Etheridge was paying all of the bills including housing, food, school, etc.
To date, Michaels has claimed that she was left with next to no money. She has also stated that Etheridge betrayed her by filing for this divorce while Etheridge was still on tour.
Two camps have sprung up over these two with each supporting one or the other. A recent trip to a major entertainment chain discovered that, nationally, they were overstocked with used CD’s from Etheridge’s catalogue. This is entirely unscientific as there could be many reasons why her music is being sold to used CD dealers. It is just an interesting little factoid.

Perhaps it is time that we Lesbians realize that you have to be an individual first before you can be a couple. So why would Tammy allow herself to become dependent on Melissa’s money when she was quite capable of making her own. There are numerous lesbian couples out there in everyday America that are two income families. It’s called child care while you are a t work or in Tammy’s case perhaps a nanny to care for the children while she earns her own income. I think we put these Hollywood stars on to much of a pedestal…they are not any different then the rest of us. We work, we take care of our children and we even divorce. So let”s get on with more important things in California, like the employment situation, gang issues or better schools for our children. I am sorry for the two of them but they are just a couple having issues like the rest of us….get over it and move on Tammy…get a job, work for your children and let it go.

Seriously why is Melissa the “bad seed” here…? Uh, her 1st relationship failed because Julie wanted to go back to men…And to me, this relationship fell because Tammy is sort of a nut case. The woman used a public blog to vent out all of her personal issues for everyone to read, then got pissed off when people commented/or judged. I think that when Melissa got w/ her she was going through a mid life crisis and mistook rebound girl for something more serious. And Tammy always treated and addressed Melissa’s career as a joke on her blog. Seriously, what did she expect marrying a singer, for her to be in the house all the time? She needs to understand that money doesn’t fall from the sky and that Melissa is supporting her and 4 kids… I’m sure she didn’t complain when Melissa brought in the dough… Sure… she took care of Melissa while she was sick… duh, that was the least she could’ve done. Even during cancer Melissa didn’t stop working… while poor Mrs. Sunshine sat in front of a laptop bitching and moaning on a blog on how “my wife on the husbandry role goes out to do her thang, cancer events and so on…” Plus… the court proved that Melissa is adequately supporting her and the kids… and denied Tammy’s petition for an extra $25,000. Her expenses description and the costs were ludicrous.

Melissa Etheridge has turned into a very selfish and ungrateful individual who has essentially walked away from her family. Sure Tammy could live on less, but why should she? She gave up her career for Melissa. Etheridge is clearly punishing her for being vocal about their relationship. I find it interesting that when Etheridge was the one “left” by a partner she was very vocal about it. But now that she is the individual who walked out, no one is supposed to talk about it. Frankly Etheridge is a disgrace to lesbian parents everywhere. We beg for equality for our relationships and our children and someone like her, in the public spotlight, makes a mockery of us.

Melissa was able to prove in court that she pays tens of thousands of dollars to support Tammy since the break up. If Tammy needs at least 6 figures to survive for a few months, she really is ridiculous.

I think someone should start a fund to help Tammy. If she is as sick as her blogs state she really needs some help. Where is Melissa now that Tammy is down and sick? Hard to believe Tammy nursed her through breast cancer and now that she needs help Melissa turns her back on her. How is that speaking true? If I had money I would help Tammy. Melissa may not have so much money if she loses her fan base due to her actions. What happens when her tickets quit selling? I don’t think I can go to another concert and enjoy it for thinking of Tammy and the twins. Does Melissa not want the media to know whats going on because she may not look so good if the truth comes out.

Why did Tammy and the kids have to move out of their home to begin with? When Melissa and Julie broke up Julie stayed in the house and Melissa moved. Why should Tammy be different?

You know there’s got to be something wrong with this dyke when she’s had two failed relationships/partnerships/marriages with two beautiful women in a row. She is bad magic, and I feel sad for Tammy that Tammy thought she needed to give up her entire, promising career for this woman.
