Yesterday, GLAAD called out the Today Show for having a wedding contest and excluding LGBT couples. The Today Show & NBC fired back saying, because marriage equality does not exist in NY State, same-sex couples can’t win the prize. GLAAD called BS and said that NY State recognizes out of state same-sex marriage and the prize is a wedding, not a marriage. GLAAD is organizing a massive campaign to get LGBT couples involved in the contest and end the discrimination.

Towleroad is reporting that over 2,500 people have emailed into the Today Show to object to the contest rules.  The Today Show tweeted in response saying: @glaad “We are listening. A complicated issue

Yes, complicated, prejudice is VERY complicated. The Today Show linked to an article that once again argues the above, that LGBT couples can’t get married in NY State as the reason they are excluded. Too bad GLAAD already negated those arguments. Try harder NBC.
