Westboro Baptist To Protest Comic-Con

07/20/10-by Bridgette P. LaVictoire
Comic Con. . .it is an annual gathering of comic books, strips, anime, and so much more. The people attending are known to carry enough cutlery that they rattle when they move, and you probably do not want to shake hands with some of them because you will believe that their hands will fall off because of the Plague of Undeath. In short, it is not the kind of place one would go if one wanted to protest about homosexuality or religion. Especially since many lesbians and gays tend to be strong supporters of comics and anime. Yet, this is where Wesboro Baptist Church plans on protesting. Fresh off of protesting Lady Gaga, they plan on protesting those idolaters known as comic book fans. Did I point out that this is a real katana sold by those wonderful people at Museum Replicas? I mean, they will let people carry them in, last I knew.

Somehow, this is just too rich. Come in to protest people who will dress up like Princess Leia, and that’s just the men. Somehow, this just seems like a bad place for three or six protesters to try and make a point about their cultish religion.

Comic Con runs from 22 July to 25 July in San Diego. The big question is, just who is paying for WBC’s people to get there. Are they walking?
