08/30/10-by Bridgette P. LaVictoire
Pastor Bill Keller hates Muslims, hates lesbians and gays, and now he wants to build a church not far from the site of the World Trade Center known mostly as Ground Zero. In fact, he is calling his church the “9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero.” So far, those opposed to the so-called Ground Zero mosque have not said a thing about Keller’s church plans, thus proving that this is about Islam and not about the sacredness of the site.
Right now, Keller, who is of Florida, is preaching at the Marriott on 85 West Street. The weekly service is planned at the hotel until he raises some $8 million in order to build his 9/11 Christian Center. He has even stated that fundraising is going well.
Keller is anti-Islamic. He has stated things such as Islam is a religion of “hate and death” and stated “Islam is a wonderful religion …for PEDOPHILES!” He is also a birther- a person who believes that President Barack Obama was born somewhere other than the United States. He has used this cause to raise money. He has called Obama the new Hitler, and believes that homosexuality is a ‘perversion’. In 2008, he attacked former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney for being a Mormon saying that people voting for him were “voting for Satan.”
Justin Elliott, of Salon.com, questioned the sincerity of those who have condemned the so-called Ground Zero mosque, stated “But the only logic by which Keller’s project would not be horrifying to those who oppose Park51 is if they believe all Muslims, including the progressive Muslim Americans behind Park51, should be treated as suspicious or even in the same category as the Sept. 11 terrorists. If mosque opponents’ concerns are truly about sensitivity to the neighborhood around ground zero — and not about Muslims — we’ll hear them denounce Keller loudly in the coming days.”

Will the new Muslim center have a meeting room for GLBT activities? They are moderate, correct?

no clue. What we do know is that they will have meeting centers for every religious group in the area.

Perhaps you are just a bit upset because what he speaks is correct. Homosexuality is a perversion and Obama has yet to show his real birth certificate because he was not born in the US. Did the man strike a chord with you Bridgette???

Angie,
President Barack Obama’s birth certificate has been shown and has been verified repeatedly. If you are wrong about that, imagine what else you are wrong about. Homosexuality is not a perversion except to those who believe that the world is one thing or another and nothing in between. Those tend to be the people who cannot think critically and refuse to even research or learn anything other than what they are spoon fed by those who want power.

You know, you have a point brigette, and I think that if 60-70% of Americans think that this Christian church teaching about love, morals, and accountablity; should not be built, then they should consider moving it. But I also think that won’t happen, and I think that you are scared that the Christian people are right and that you may have to take a look at what you really believe. It is very hard to look inward and realize that the reason for your hatred of Christianity is because you think you are not good enough in God’s eyes. But the fact is, God loves all of us and knows that we are imperfect, and loves us anyway. I will pray for you.

Teresa,
I hold no hatred for Christianity, and if you believed I have a point, then you would not be arguing this based upon my supposed hatred of Christianity. I look inward all the time. It is part of my duties as a Priestess of the Goddess to look both within and without for wisdom and understanding and to understand myself.
This church, this ‘pastor’ Keller is nothing but a panderer of hatred. He hates anyone who is not of his perversion of the Christian faith.
Next time, Teresa, do not presume to know what is in my mind or how I feel.

Of course the issue is about Islam and the Islamic State run Muslim religion. The choice of Americans wanting a Christian Church or a Muslim Mosque controlled by Islam is really simple. It was Muslims who killed 3,000 Americans, not Christians and the majority of those killed would have been Christians, so naturally Americans would rather have a Christian Church to honor them.

Robert Y,
You forget about the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Americans killed in this nation by Christians. Not to mention the fact that this particular person is one of those responsible for the deaths of many Americans because he spews hatred of others. Personally, I’d rather honor those who died by wiping out every building in the vicinity of Ground Zero and making it into a park.

LGBT Americans were killed on 9/11. I demand that church be moved.

Thanks for sharing this abomination, Bridgette. His name is Bill Keller, not Bob. His Web site–www.liveprayer.com–clearly shows that he and his followers (clearly not Christians) are far worse even than this article indicates. He has broken most of the Ten Commandments, sacred to real Christians. He bears false witness against his Muslim neighbors. He covets their house. He has stolen their idea. He is profaning the Sabbath Day with his malevalence. He is advocating the worship of himself, above the One True God who–according to Christian Scripture–is love itself. It’s truly too bad that this preacher cannot be defrocked by a denomination he doesn’t have.

Thank you for the correction, and you’re welcome. I have a few learning disabilities, and they occasionally rear their heads. This was one of those cases. I probably read Bill and wrote Bob. I’ve made that correction.
