Gay Prison Romcom Finally Getting Distributor, Release 3 Dec.

08/26/10-by Bridgette P. LaVictoire
The Jim Carrey-Ewan McGregor flick I Love You, Phillip Morris will finally be coming out.  The romance/comedy starring the two actors in jail falling in love with each other has been having a hard time finding a distributer largely because it is supposedly hard to market a gay prison romcom.

Roadside Attractions has taken on the distribution of the film, but the movie that premiered at Sundance ‘09 has had a troubled history already with about four or five different release dates.  Now, the distributors of Winter’s Bone, Good Hair, and The Cove, are setting their sights on 3 December to release this gay romcom.

The film will probably be up against many of next year’s Oscar fair as well as coming out at a time when many movie theaters will be showing films which are less likely to pull in the crowds ahead of the Christmas film rush.

    I believe that the recent success in the civil rights for LGBT free spirits everywhere is a sign of the necessary evolutionary direction for our future.  Too many nut job conservatives are controlling the lives others to guarantee archaic traditions and delusions of saving heaven and God for the sake of keeping a dream pure and without flaw.  I don’t know any universe where a perfect world exists.  But the living things in our world live by experimenting, adapting, and overcoming the adversity that stands in the way of surviving.

    I hope that I will have a chance to watch and judge for myself the quality or lack thereof of the Carrey/MacGregor flick.  Anything to help me get through another day of utter torture in having to deal with everyone. :>}
