While most of the cases which come to the public’s attention regarding priests involved in the sexual abuse of children involve boys and young men, not all of them do. A woman recently contacted the diocese of Osnabrueck to report that a Roman Catholic priest raped her twice when she was 14 years old. She is now 34.
Osnabrueck prosecution spokesman Alexander Retemeyer has stated that the fifty year old man, who was a chaplain at the time, forced the girl into having sex with him. He also is alleged to have threatened her with punishment from God. The priest, according to prosecutors, has admitted sexual contacts with the woman twenty years ago when she was a girl. He has been relieved of his duties by the church.
According to Retemeyer, the abuse continued for up to three years, but that they could only bring charges on two of them since they did not have enough evidence to substantiate the other charges.

Maybe the USA will follow their lead…but I doubt that.
