Jane Lynch, Eric Stonestreet, Modern Family Win Early Emmys

Jane Lynch won for her role on Glee.  Lynch beat out Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara of Modern Family, Kristen Wiig of SNL, Jane Krakowski of 30 Rock, and Holland Taylor of Two and a Half Men.  Lynch recently married her girlfriend Dr. Lara Embry.

The winner for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy went to Eric Stonestreet of Modern Family. The actor, who wanted to be a clown when he grew up, is one half of the gay couple in the series. He nominated opposite Ty Burrell, also of Modern Family, Jon Cryer of Two and a Half Men, Chris Colfer, of Glee, and Neil Patrick Harris, of How I Met Your Mother. He was also nominated against the man who plays his boyfriend on Modern Family Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd won for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series. The two wrote the pilot for Modern Family.
