Judge Rules Against Antigay Grad Student

Melanie Nathan; August 22, 2010-

A federal judge has ruled against graduate student Jennifer Keeton, who refused to read material about counseling gays because, she asserted it would increase her exposure to a community that goes against her beliefs.

U.S. District Judge Randal Hall ruled that Augusta State University‘s requirement was “academically legitimate.” His ruling allows the school to expel Keeton if she doesn’t follow the remediation plan. Reports the Editors at the Advocate.

The Judge said said the case “isn’t about pitting Christianity against homosexuality, but rather the constitutionality of the school’s requirement.

Psychologists have expressed  that the ruling is appropriate – citing the fact that integral to the training of a Psychologist is to keep personal views separate from professional duties.  One always has the right to refuse a client and refer them to someone else.

I am a counselor who doesn’t agree with Christianity so that means I don’t have to counsel Christians, right? WHAT A JOKE! She is never going to be respected as a counselor. Find a new career path Jennifer! Maybe you should be a nun.
