In big gay concert news, pop princess Kylie Minogue and crooner Rufus Wainwright are coming to New York. The two LGBT icons will perform at the Watermill Summer Concert. The two will sing together for the first time on Saturday, August 28 at 4:30 PM at The Watermill Center. The concert also includes DJ Rachel Chandler who will spin in between sets.
Rufus concerts are always star-studded events, as celebrities rank among the out and proud singers many fans, so prices are pretty steep and the concerts tend to sell out. Kylie Minogue has also been stepping up her visibility among her LGBT fans, appearing on Logo multiple times and singing with the Scissor Sisters.
If you want to go and have a lot of extra cash, I recommend you get your tickets ASAP. Tickets range from $150 to $1000; the latter price including access to a backstage meet-and-greet with the artists after the show! For tickets, please visit The Watermill Center website, call the Byrd Hoffman Watermill Foundation at 212.253.7484 ext 18, or email benefit@watermillcenter.org.
