Malibu Canyon Remains Reportedly Identified As Mitrice Richardson

08/12/10-by Bridgette P. LaVictoire
The nearly year long mystery that surrounded the disappearance of Mitrice Richardson has come to an end. Eleven months after she disappeared, her remains have been recovered and identified. The twenty-four year old lesbian disappeared on 17 September. She was sighted not far from where her remains were found. She had traveled some twenty miles from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s station in Calabasas, CA. She had been released from there at 1am after being picked up by police for failing to pay an $89 restaurant bill. She also possessed a small amount of marijuana. She was released without her car, which was impounded, an her cell phone and purse, which were in her impounded car.

Journals found in the car indicated that she may have had a mental break, and could have indicated that she suffered from severe bipolar disorder. Her mother is suing the LA Sheriff’s department for wrongful death.

The remains were found by Malibu Canyon park rangers. Searches of the canyon did not turn up any remains previously, but that may simply be that her remains were missed by those earlier searches. A cause of death has not be determined and may take some time to determine.

Poor girl. She never had a chance with these police officers. I read, of all the jobs/employees, police have the lowest I.Q. and I believe it. The only show that has really been covering this story well is “Issues” with Jane Velez-Mitchell. She had the father on last night and sure to focus on this story more tonight. What a mess.
