Deceased Woman Contributes To David Vitter’s Campaign

Senator David Vitter recently won his primary against a man who, apparently, was sleeping with his son’s ex-wife. The man who has had a lot of trouble with women in the past- from a prostitution scandal to an employee who attacked his girlfriend- he has not suffered much. In fact, he still has a way with women. Apparently, he can charm money from the dead too. According to the notice of contributions that Vitter filed on 17 August, he received a campaign contribution from Anna Gumpertz of Toluca Lake, CA. There is a bit of a problem with her contribution. She made it post-mortem. She is dead.

Mrs Gumpertz passed away last year of a heart attack. She is survived by her husband Donald, who has donated to the GOP repeatedly, including donating over $7000 to Vitter’s campaign this year, which may be a violation of the law.

Mrs. Gumpertz’ ghost appears to have also donated to the Republicans for Choice PAC and to Representative Paul Broun of Georgia. Since it appears that donations to candidates by ghosts are not allowed, it is unclear what will happen next.
