“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven”- Ecclesiastes
President Barack Obama, is now the right season to take on your own party and veto a bill over a job creating program? Is now the right season to take the Democrats on given that the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and the passage of immigration reform are at stake? Is now, in the middle of the election season, the right time to veto the Defense Authorization Bill?
Repealing the Defense Authorization Bill will hand the election to the Republicans this year. While Democrats are being counted out, the reality is that there have been few to no real primaries that have gotten the blood boiling. The primary race for Blanche Lincoln was just about the only real primary contest at the national level that excited anyone. In Vermont, people turned out for the five way Democratic contest for Governor, and not because Leahy had a challenge from someone no one could remember.
Now that the primaries are over, the Democrats are waking up, as per Vice President Joe Biden’s words on Dr. Rachel Maddow’s show, and the question is do you, Mr. President, want the voters to see that you support LGBT rights and Latino rights or do you want them to see that you do not support them or the military?
The Republicans have been pushing the LGBT Community over your lack of movement over DADT since shortly after the inauguration. While it is not true that you have abandoned DADT’s repeal, that is not the narrative being presented on the message boards every day, and that will be the message taken to the national headlines everywhere from FOX News to the Arizona papers-
Obama Abandons Immigrants!
Obama Abandons Gays!
Obama Abandons The Troops!
That will be the narrative, and then, guess who will win in November? That is right, the Republicans. It is almost as if you, Rahm Emmanuel, and Robert Gibbs want the GOP to win in November so that you can blame them for your problems even though you already can do that since the Republicans are holding up some 400 bills and countless nominees just because they can out of spite. You have not taken them on until now, but in this one act, you risk handing them the election because they will tell the immigrants, the LGBT Americans and the hawks that you do not support any of the groups important to them, and that you do not support their issues.
Right now, the Senate has pulled the funding. It is not the time to have Robert Gibbs threatening the veto, and it is not the time to have a fight over this bill. If anything, that plays right into the hands of the GOP at a time when most Democrats are just waking up to the political landscape full of theocrats such as Christine O’Donnell, bigots like Rand Paul, cooks like Sharron Angle, and lumberjacks (you know the kind) like Joe Miller. Right now, the GOP is vulnerable and looking very fringy. Now is not the time to throw that advantage away over a signature.

Your Dumb

WOW this article is so stupid. Obama and most Democrats are pushing for both of these. How stupid do you have to be to not know that and write an article about politics.

Well, Mr. Dumb, you certainly are not my dumb as I do not own any dumb. Secondly, President Barack Obama has vowed to veto this bill if it contains that funding. Apparently, you are so dumb that you not only do not know the difference between you’re dumb and your dumb, but you do not follow the politics very well nor did you read what I wrote. Incidentally, “you’re dumb” would be an insult as it is a contraction of “you are dumb”, but “your dumb” is a possessive meaning the dumb that belongs to you.
A REAL AMERICAN

Harry Reid was foolish to put in the DREAM Act into that bill. It will be a loser for sure. People know he did that just to gain the Mexican vote just as Obama is panderint to the racist illegal advocates. . Americans have explicityly expressed that we do not want another amnesty, which the Dream Act is. We are sick of illegals getting away with breaking so many laws, with no consequences, and getting welfare for their anchors. Reid knew it couldn’t pass on its own merits, so he tried to scam it through the Defense bill. A typical reason of why Americans are sick of politicians playing games for thier own benefit, as opposed to doing what is best for Americans. I will not vote for any candidate who supports another amnesty.

from the sounds of it, you weren’t going to vote for Obama or any Democrat anyway, so why claim that you were?

I am so tired of user names such as yours. or patriot or any other name that seems like you need to display how american you are. its a sad day when you have to showcase yourself as american meanwhile your words speak otherwise.
