It has always been highly unlikely that Democratic Senatorial candidate Alvin Greene of South Carolina was going to win, but it is beginning to appear as if his chances are getting even slimmer. Dottie Sue Maggart-Feldmen, a former campaign aid for Greene, has accused the candidate of using anti-white and anti-gay slurs. According to her, he called Democratic activist Will Bigger a “fat white faggot” while the two were on their way back from a forum in York County that Bigger organized.
Greene denies that he called anyone these things and stated “That’s not true. She is a troublemaker and she is not with my campaign.”
For his part, Bigger is not sure what to believe, but feels that it is rather disappointing. He stated “You try to do a public service for people. You try to respect the dignity of human beings and this is what you get. There’s no honesty, it seems like, in politics anymore.” He does not regret the York county forum where Greene came to speak and answer questions.
For her part, Maggart-Feldmen has apparently threatened to ruin Greene. That may be hard to do since he currently trails is opponent, Senator Jim DeMint by 44 points. Greene is also know for saying that he could turn the economy around by selling dolls of his likeness. Greene is also an unemployed veteran, and he is facing a felony charge for allegedly showing a University of South Carolina female college student pornography.
