Are you a California voter wondering how to vote this coming election?
October 25-2010
The ILWU Southern California District Council provides union members with a pocket guide each year highlighting the issues impacting union members and their families at the ballot box.
If you’re wondering what your vote will be this year, consider the guide provided and how employee unions are affected by the issues. In the current economy, workers have to stand united against corporations exploiting our efforts and creating an atmosphere where the rich get richer and the working class suffers.
Take a look at what longshore and warehouse union members are considering as their vote and think about what is best for your family:
Governor of California
Edmund G. “Jerry” BrownU.S. Senate
Barbara BoxerLieutenant Governor
Gavin NewsomSecretary of State
Debra BowenController

Dave JonesAttorney General

Jerome HortonProp. 19 Taxing Legal Marijuana YES
Prop. 20 Congressional Districts NO
Prop. 21 State Park Financing YES
Prop. 22 Local Gvt. Financing NEUTRAL
Prop. 23 Global Warming NO
Prop. 24 Corporate Taxes YES
Prop. 25 Majority Budget Vote YES
Prop. 26 2/3rd Vote on Fees NO
Prop. 27 Redistricting Commission YES
As a member of a union family I have seen the benefits of uniting against corporate greed and protecting workers and families against this tyranny. If you ask me, I’ll be voting the union way!

Thanks to the ILWU SCDC for putting together the pocket guide! As a ‘longie wife’ I wait for the guide each election and thought others should take a look. I appreciate your comment and look forward to more great things from the ILWU and SCDC. Stay safe!
