Aftermath for McCance, Midland Arkansas School District Board Bully

Melanie Nathan 10-26-10 nathan@privatecourts.com

Earlier Tuesday, LGR’s Bridgette LaVictoire reported on the suicide inciting antics of  anti-gay  Clint McCance, the Midland School District board members from Independence County, Arkansas. His hate spewing  comments appeared on his Face Book page – where in the face of recent gay teen suicides he mocked their deaths and suggested it was advisable for gay youth to kill themselves.

Shortly after the story spread  a new Face Book page  appeared entitled “Fire Clint McCance” http://www.facebook.com/pages/Fire-Clint-McCance/170421922968484 and within mere hours 8,000 members signed up; I have no doubt by morning there will be a lot more.

It appears that Clint McCance is a local business owner with a carpet cleaning business, Clint’s Carpet Cleaning , 7569 Batesville Blvd,  Pleasant Plains, AR (501) 268-7360.

Now the outcry is gaining momentum.  This is a paragraph from the District’s Bullying Policy http://170.211.228.2/

“District staff are required to help enforce implementation of the district’s anti-bullying policy. The district’s definition of bullying is included below. Students who bully another person are to be held accountable for their actions whether they occur on school equipment or property grounds; off school property grounds at a school-sponsored or school-approved function, activity, or event; or going to or from school or a school activity. Students are encouraged to report behavior they consider to be bullying, including a single action which if allowed to continue would constitute bullying, to their teacher or the building principal. The report may be made anonymously”

From Page 49 – classified personnel policy of Midland School District, AR”

Well how interesting – it seems the district board member thinks he is above the law that applies to the students.

We checked the Board Minutes and found that all minutes were available for Download but for some reason it seems that the April 2010, and following months have been removed from the District Website.

Mr. McCance ‘s FB page has also been removed.

Other Board Members in the district  include:  Debbie Frazier, Bob Rhew, Robert Beel, Connie Blevins, James Grider, Bryson Wood and Clint McCance. This is a sad day for this Board whose names will forever remain in association with member McCance;

I can hardly imagine all these members sharing the sordid views of McCance. I would certainly recommend that the Board take action and call for firing or resignation of McCance as well as a strong statement disassociating themselves from his disgusting views.

It is interesting to note that the Batesville Guard, the Local Newspaper has yet to cover its local story that is gaining National Attention.

Letters can be written to the District  at -

Okay I understand that emotions are high where Mr. McCance is concern but what you people are doing now just WRONG! If you have a problem with Mr. McCance that’s one thing but because of some of YOU think it’s your duty to put ALL of his personal info. on the web for everybody to see and have. Well because of this the FBI has been called in because Mr. McCance and his family has had death threats on their lives including his young children! Unfortunately the media fell to inform the public about that. Looking at this website it’s not Mr. McCance that is the Bully here it YOU! And I’m wonderiing just how would you feel if someone got your personal information and made sure that EVERYBODY GOT! No I don’t think he is the bully anymore!

Hey YR – not only do I put my name to what I write, but I also put my personal information out there. Mr McCance is a villain – he basically said things that can harm children and cause them to committ suicide. He wanted other people’s children dead!!!!! That is what he said. Read it! So in essence he even threatened the lives of his own children who you seem so worried about. What if one of HIS kids were gay??? He is the one wishing them dead. His words have a greater impact than you realize – and so this is warning to people like you and him – if ever you dare try and hurt the gay and lesbian community again – you WILL be fully exposed!

Why?  That is all I can think of typing.  I see bullying allowed to be accepted and it just hurts.  I wish I were more articulate and could get how I feel out there, but people such as that man hurt, and make we wonder how he came to think that wishing death on someone was a good thing.

We may not be able to get this bigot fired but you can complain to the Arkansas Better Business Bureau about his bigoted practices at his Business (Clint McCance is a local business owner with a carpet cleaning business: Clint’s Carpet Cleaning , 7569 Batesville Blvd, Pleasant Plains, AR 72568 (501) 268-7360.) Send a complaint to the Arkansas Better Business Bureau @ (http://arkansas.app.bbb.org/complaint/new/)
Remember this was how the “NET” (that you and me and everyone else upset by this creep) was able to take down Lori Drew, the creepy mother who tormented (while disguised as a teenage boy) a teenage girl who was a former friend of her own daughters until she killed herself. Lori Drew’s Mail Ad business was ruined as was her life. These creeps must learn that there are serious consequences for such hatred! So even if we can’t get this prick fired, we can still GET to him! Go after him and don’t let go until his life is in ruins, he deserves nothing less!

I don’t know what god he’s praying to, but I find it hard to believe that any god would want young teens to kill themselves because of some ignorant man in Arkansas. If I were god, I’d really hate Clint McCance right now.

They have restored the minutes for April 2010, but every month thereafter they have “change in fund” reports instead of minutes. Interesting. Someone is covering for this asshole.

Why do people have to make there comments period???? True we All have our thoughts on the matter but keep them to yourself an that way stuff like this article don’t happen an won’t hurt others! The problem with this story an many others goes back to the simple old saying” if you don’t have something good to say then don’t say anything at all”!!!!! Just saying!!!!

Horrible, just horrible… I guess it was naive of me to believe that people did not act this way anymore, at least not in public.

And by the way, AK is ALASKA and AR is for ARKANSAS. Please correct this so that others will be less likely to continue the error. OK I see somebody else has made the correction as well, and even threw in the abbreviation for Arizona… Good idea, since the reason people think Arkansas is AK is due to thinking AR is for Arizona. @Paula: Anyway, don’t feel bad because a LOT of people make this mistake IN THIS COUNTRY! I’m not sure the correction has gone through though because I just saw it…

It’s why I, well, write out the whole state’s name unless I’m absolutely certain.

Disgusting…especially since I went to college about 30 minutes away from Midland. Also, I hate to be nit-picky…but AK is Alaska…AR is Arkansas…AZ is Arizona. It kind of takes away from a news source’s credibility a little when we don’t get our 7th grade geography right in the headlines.
