Page Six is reporting that poor Rooney Mara paid a high price for fame. The newly discovered talent had to drastically change her appearance to become Lisbeth Salander, “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” and director David Fincher didn’t want to use fake piercings. Page Six says Mara had to ”bleach her eyebrows and dye her hair jet black, and even pierce her nipples for a topless scene.” I don’t know if that’s true or not…I mean, don’t they sell that magnetic stuff? I think I wore one for Halloween once on my lip, which Mara also has pierced for the pics that were just released for the film.
Page Six goes on to further paint their image of director Fincher as a monster, saying that he has made Mara stay in seclusion in Sweden. “She is in lockdown. David Fincher is determined to keep her out of sight as much as possible to keep her look under wraps.”
If this IS true, which I still don’t think it is, then maybe that’s why Fincher chose an unknown over Scarlett Johansson. I don’t think Scarlett would play this game with him.
