Assange Signs Book Deal To Help With Personal Legal Costs

12/27/10-by L. S. Carbonell
So, Julian Assange has signed a seven-figure book deal for his autobiography. He claims he needs the money for his legal costs. It’s the only reason someone as intensely secretive and determinedly private as Assange would agree to an autobiography. He needs to set the record straight on all those dozens and dozens of newspaper and magazine profiles of him that are proliferating around the world. I wonder if Assange has any intentions of using some of that money to assist with the legal defense fund of the young American soldier who is possibly facing a firing squad for making Assange an international celebrity whose autobiography might interest anyone? Oh, sorry, I forgot. This isn’t about 22-year-old Bradley Manning’s life or liberty or relief from the torture he’s enduring at Quantico or even the thousands of secret documents that Manning stole for Assange. It’s about keeping thirty-nine-year-old Assange from answering questions about his perverse addiction to unprotected sex.
