12/22/10-by Bridgette P. LaVictoire
Just because President Barack Obama has signed the repeal process law does not mean that the battle is over. It should not be surprising that the Family Research Council, the hate group lead by Tony Perkins, is planning every dirty trick that they can find in order to push their radical, unAmerican social agenda and sabotage the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.
As Right Wing Watch points out, the FRC seemed to be resigned to the repeal saying:
It’s been a long, hard fight. And as sobering as the outcome may be, we can all be proud that we stood our ground and did what was right for our soldiers and our country. Now it’s time to leave the outcome, however ominous it may be, in the hands of the Lord.
Of course, that was Monday. By now they are realizing that they have to do something to try and not have this be a huge defeat. Now they are planning on suing to stop implementation,
As for FRC, who will take great pleasure in seeing this lame-duck finally limp out of town, we’ll be spending the next couple of weeks reassessing the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” debate. In fact, I’ve already been in conversations with Hill leaders about holding hearings in the New Year, as well as statutory and legislative oversight steps that can be taken to turn back aspects of the repeal and slow down–if not stop–the rest. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and others will be working with FRC to put a strict evaluation process in place. We want to ensure that the Pentagon is monitoring the effect of this radical change on the men and women in harm’s way. One way to do that is demanding specific measurables–like tracking the sexual assaults, dips in recruitment and retention, combat distractions, and more. If there’s the slightest disruption to the military’s mission, you can bet that FRC will be on the Hill, demanding to revisit this repeal.
Of course, everyone knows that the definition of judicial activism is whenever a judge rules the way that I do not agree. The FRC is expecting suits to be filed to stop DADT repeal, but, of course, back in September they said this about Judge Virginia Phillips’ ruling on DADT:
This is the very definition of judicial activism — when you are unable to achieve your desired policy goals through the democratic process, simply go to court and get a judge to decree that it must be so.
The battle is not over. It won’t be for a while. In Vermont, after the passage of marriage equality, Vermont Freedom To Marry did not give up until everyone who voted for us was returned to their seats, if they were running for reelection. Only one was defeated.

FRC will work with McCain to slow down repeal? Perfect!
Considering he will get a study of if it needs to be slowed. Then another study to see if the first was valid. Then a third to see if the first and second agree with each other. . . by the n’th study McCain will be long dead and the FRC? On to the next group they want to go after, as a way to raise money.

This guy is a total weasel. They are making money hand over fists because of their hate. I really hope we go on the offensive against guys like him, James Dobson, and all the other wastes of sperm. These people spread their hate like a virus and destroy families.

Y’know, I kinda wish they would have left it “in the hands of the Lord” from the beginning.
‘Cause if *I* was “the Lord,” I’d be all “Look, if you don’t trust my omnipotence and omniscience and infinite wisdom, you ain’t worth the meat I breathed on for life, buster. Don’t be being a bunch of jerks and THEN handing it over to me to fix — that’s just gonna get you tossed in the lake of hubris fire.”
